I could not care less if Dame gets what he wants. He got paid. That is POR obligation. All his endorsements etc are because of POR. In fact I have to put this garbage on ignore. Just no logic to it
Hollinger and Zach Lowe called the offer (of value for Herro, Jaquez, Jovic, two or three firsts, and filler as needed) "good" and "palatable", respectively, on Lowe's podcast today. Both agreed that it wasn't the best deal possible, probably, and they both thought Miami might not have to give all that up if they think they can get Dame without doing so. They also talked about other trade options for almost an hour, so they don't perceive it as a done deal.
I realize that Im probably in the minority but thats cool. And I certainly respect yours and others opinions. I have a bunch of grandkids that want Dame playing with Jimmy Butler if we can't keep him here. They grew up with Dame and love that he's a great person first. They will get excited about Shae, Scoot and others also. Id love for them to someday watch him go into HOF as a Blazer.
I think Dame/Aaron Goodwin are counting on general goodwill towards Dame making Cronin look bad if he pulls a Morey and just refuses to trade Dame. But I think they've miscalculated, and Dame has just manage to light all goodwill towards him on fire. So there's no downside to just not trading Dame. Let him just sit there getting older.
...after all, the Blazers have experience in sitting Dame for an entire season already - the second halves of the last two seasons put together. So Jody's used to paying Dame for doing fuck all.
Well, maybe they're not "substantial" because Riley's like "Herro and Robinson and I'll throw in a first" and Joe responds with "everything in your cupboard not named Bam or Butler" and it's a race to see who hangs up first.
I mean, it's from Haynes. How credible is that? He's getting something from Dame's side. By Dame's definition/interpretation, insubstantial simply could mean the Blazers didn't cave.
At this point Joe has laid out the bottom line and until Goodwin and Riley put that on the table, there's nothing to say. It's Miami and his agent's job to get the package to buy Dame's contract and I highly doubt they don't know where the line in the sand is. Joe's job is to audition offers for Lillard
