So disappointed in Dame. I have more respect for LeBron now. He honors his contracts and doesn’t force trades. Why wouldn’t Dame want to play in Boston? He’d have a chance to win there.

Lol with what? They have no young guys or draft picks. Brown is literally their only piece that has value.

That is the best news since this shit started. Brown wants to play with Udoka at HOU.

I don't want Brown but a 3rd team would and we could get a lot of great young players in that deal.

With that said, BOS without Brown may not be any worse than MIA depending on how many picks they have available.

Justin Champagnie, Sam Hauser, and Malcom Brogdon isn't really worse then MIA's crap players. Of course the point would be to do better not just as well...

Windy already explained in context to Brown and Maxey, teams are publicly saying they aren't including those players because if the trades don't go through, their value won't finish.

Boston has been trying to trade Brown since before prohibition.

Boston would include picks even if they sent out Brown and they have a bunch.

Robert Williams and more guards that we don't need are about all they can offer without Brown.

I will admit that injury issues and all, I am a big Robert Williams fan. I have no idea why Coach Joe Maz was yo-yoing his minutes around against the Heat. Outside of Derrick White, Robert Williams was the best thing they had going that series. And the Time Lord was the backbone and simply carried that defense in their run in 2022.

He's only 25... this may be hypocrisy to some here (especially given his legitimate injury concerns), but I like him more as an addition to this roster than Claxton, Maxey, Herro or any other realistically discussed "young piece" that's out there.

I don't necessarily love the Boston pick situation, but if you can get Williams & filler plus 3-4 picks... it's not nothing... but again, I recognize that I am much higher on Williams than probably most here.

It has to be Brown..we're not trading for picks Brogdon and Pritchard and scraps...Miami can beat that offer

If Boston is just posturing on the Jaylen Brown stuff (because WOW would that be an expensive roster to add Dame, keep Brown, and extend Porzingis), I would also be intrigued by deal with a Houston type team in which we might collect both Robert Williams from Boston and young assets/picks from Houston. The question then would become is would Boston be willing to give up Brown and Williams (who may be redundant with Porzy and Horford?) to get Dame?

    A framework like:
Boston receives: Dame and a 1st from Houston
    Houston receives: Jaylen Brown
Portland receives: Robert Williams, Jabari Smith, filler, and two firsts from Houston?

It would be a package lighter on the picks, but you'd have a potential frontcourt moving forward to pair with Simons and Sharpe.

Dame would also be so valuable as a leader for Boston, especially after they moved Smart. Everyone was screaming to trade Brown after the playoffs, why would they resist when they could nab Dame??

    Just a quick thought exercise.

If a theoretical Brown deal were to arise around September, and the Celtics were amenable to either:

    1) Brown + filler for Dame

    Or

    2) Brown for Simons + Scoot

    Which deal would you do?

(Assume Brown would sign on with an extension as part of the negotiation in either scenario).

I would not trade Scoot. Not now. I'm full on the Scoot train. I'd trade Dame for Brown and then flip Brown for picks/young players.

Yup, what we have learned from the Dame era - you do not trade stars or potential stars that want to be in Portland! #BAM
