    Can you imagine our defense though..... with Scoot/Ant/Sharpe? That's just depressing.

    you're welding Ant's catch & shoot numbers to Dame. I'd weld it to his number of attempts

    * in 2020-21, Ant's eFG on C&S was 77.1% on 2.2 attempts/game
    * in 2021-22, Ant's eFG on C&S was 71.5% on 4.0 attempts/game
    * in 2022-23, Ant's eFG on C&S was 58.7% on 4.9 attempts/game

    pretty clear correlation there

    these are essentially all three point shots as well, so it's worth looking at Ant's assisted FG rate on three's

    * in 2020-21, Ant's assisted FG Rate on three's was 71.0%
    * in 2021-22, Ant's assisted FG Rate on three's was 65.4%
    * in 2020-21, Ant's assisted FG Rate on three's was 68.4%

    not sure that really tells us anything other than ascribing Ant's C&S conversion rate to playing with Dame seems a pretty big stretch. It also seems to be trying to revise history into Dame not being a willing or capable passer; he was 10th in the NBA in assist rate last season

    something else too: right now, the only play-maker & facilitator Portland has on the team is Scoot...and maybe (roll eyes) Keon. So in order to get Ant these great C&S opportunities you imagine Dame didn't get him is to be on the floor with Scoot....meaning either Sharpe is on the bench or he's playing out of position. People were worried about Dame/Scoot playing together; I'd suggest Ant/Scoot will be worse

    Yup. If Ant has a future here, he's either going to embrace a bench role or he's out. It's that simple to me.

    I discussed C&S 3P percent, don't know why we care about eFG which dirties the data with other stuff, but here is what I can see from the last 3 years

    2022-2023, C&S 3PA 4.9, 3P% 39.2, 1252 minutes with Dame
    2021-2022, C&S 3PA 4.0, 3P% 47.8, 377 minutes with Dame
    2020-2021, C&S 3PA 2.2, 3P%, 51.4 422 minutes with Dame

    Ant's 3P% on C&S fell down playing a lot next to Dame, it was higher when he did not play that much with him. The data absolutely matches what my eyes told me. It is again, not a surprise when you looked at Portland's offense with Dame dominating the ball vs. when he is off the ball. The ball certainly moves around better when Dame is not dominating the ball. You want Dame dominating the ball because of how devastating he is in P&R situations, but when Ant plays next to Dame and Dame does his P&R stuff is not conducive for Ant running for C&S in the flow of the offense. If the Blazers offense flows more within the new Shae / Scoot era, I hope that Ant recovers his devastating C&S 3P%

    Maybe it's the Blazers telling his agent that his Dame actions have consequences for him and his other clients as well...

    Ha, I hope someone asks Thybulle about that. If it is true, not that big of a deal. But if it was exaggerated by Haynes, it would be nice to know. It sure seems like Haynes seems has an agenda. Why say it? Even if it is true it does not help Matisse out in Portland. He said the same thing about Batum and Minnesota. Then Nic had to walk it back when he got back to Portland.

    Ant will start my amigo. He will NOT be coming off the bench for either of these two. He will be traded before he comes off the bench. Put in TOO much work.

    Yeah, lol at anyone thinking Ant will come off the bench. Worst case they will start all 3 guards.

    Of all the "insiders and experts" people on here post, Chris actually DOES know what's going on and actually HAS relationships with players. If there is somebody I'd believe he's one of 'em.

    I don't see anything wrong with Matisse wanting to be on the Mavs. He would have started and had a chance to compete.

    Here, he's what, the 6th man at best?

    The chance to play with two superstars for an owner that's shown they will spend to win.... no reason to believe he wasn't pumped to go down there. That said, very happy he will be returning to us. Love his game.

    Unless the Blazers convert one or both the 2-way guys into a full contract.

    We also won't care about winning or defense. Let the kids cook and see what we have. I just want Shaedon on the floor for 30+ mpg. Whether that's at 2 or 3 is irrelevant.

    We could go big. Not saying we will be good, but we can go big by moving Grant to SF and starting Sharpe at SG.
    Maybe Ben Simmons at forward? or Maybe Jovic. Again not ideal but quite possible.

    Jovic to me is no worse a defender than say Michael Porter Jr, and is a better passer.
    I bet his floor is a healthy Gallanari.
