Wow exactly one year ago today. I hope Scoot is ok. He looked solid.

Dude, this whole conversation is whack. 5 of the last 10 champs were “Small market” teams. There have been two dynasties in the last 25 years, the Warriors (big market) and the Spurs (small fucking market).

And Memphis, small market, has been the #2 seed two seasons in a row. I don't know if they'll make the leap, but they are very good in the regular season.

Regardless of how the MRI turns out, the only thing that matters here is his long term health. The importance of Summer league reps is not the smallest of considerations. He's going to be getting plenty of reps against the best of the best shortly and those lessons will benefit him most if he's 100% physically. Summer League or not, thats what they're preparing him for.

He already played seasons against better competition in the G-League; I'm not worried about reps.

What do you consider a 'small market' team?

TV market size or ownership value?

Because 0f the last 10 years winners, Denver, Golden State, Bucks, Vomit Stains, Raptors, Warriors, Warriors, Cavs, Warriors and Spurs.

I think you could only argue that the Bucks and Spurs were a "small market" team (based on tv market size).

Bucks being 38, and Spurs 31 (conversely, Portland is 22).

Cleveland is 19, Denver is 16, G-state is 10 and Vomit Stain is #2 (not sure where Toronto ranks tbh).

And if you were to go by the last 10 Champions (as in no repeats)

    Denver 16
    Golden State 10
    Bucks 38
    Vomit Stains 2
    Raptors N/A
    Cavs 19
    Spurs 31
    Miami 18
    Dallas 5
    Boston 9

With their market size being listed next to their names.

All but 2 of them are better markets than Portland.

I don't know what the discussion is, but the Vomit Stains were the only team to win a championship (in the bubble) without a multi-time All Star already drafted by the "big market" team already on the roster.
It's obvious that being a big/huge market isn't that much of an advantage or New York and Chicago would always have better teams than Portland.

These market sizes, wherever you got them are fucked up. The fact is that Golden State has the entire Bay Area which these numbers probably only count SF or Oakland depending on when they’re from. There’s no fucking was GS has a smaller market than Denver. Denver is probably a smaller market than us. The Cavs aren’t a big market team. The Raptors that whatever source you are looking at has no listing for are a small market. The Spurs and Bucks are obviously small market teams. So here we are again at 5 out of the last 10 championships being won in small markets.

I think it’s the play he got fouled on and hit the pads under the hoop. Obviously he was in for a few plays after that but that was the most significant upper body change contact I found leading up to him leaving the game.

I would be surprised. Thompson was in a lot of pain when he went down.

Yep, I'm not sad about Dame asking for a trade. I'm appalled by "his camp's" behavior in terms of not just media leaks, but supposed calls to GMs. It's surreal.

I'm mostly talking about the way the media, and fans from those teams in general treat the small market teams. It's really reached a new level of low and the Dame thing has just really bummed me out. I'm actually super excited about Sharpe especially, but also Scoot next season. I just want a decent haul for Dame and for his people to quit being such Pyrrhic victory mentality assholes.

I missed that Thompson also got hurt. I have a feeling Scoot will be fine.

I saw Scoot come back into the arena and sit with his family during the Spurs game. He stopped and gave bro hugs to a couple of friends along the way. It didn't look like he was experiencing any discomfort in any way.

The guy who was sitting next to me (also a Blazer fan) said he ran into Mike Schmidtz on the concourse. Apparently Mike said that Scoot was fine

Soured me. Goes to show that Dame isn’t owed anything; with the millions made he needs to quiet down already. I hear people say “he earned his money” but does anyone “deserve” $700,000. per gane? Seriously!
