So offer now is: 3 firsts + one of Jovic/Jaquez, but could be shopping Martin for another 1st. And the one we want is: 4 firsts + both Jovic/Jaquez. Blazers will hold out until they get both. That's probably the best package Miami can offer. It's fine. I wouldn't do anything less though.
I just don't agree with that. The only "bad" trade was the Clippers trade. And I don't believe that trade was as bad as many say. And I think it's pretty damn obvious that was a Vulcan trade as much or more than a Cronin trade The CJ trade was good; the Grant trade was good; the Hart trade was fine; the Payton trade was ok and corrected a fuck-up. 4 out of 5 trades on the plus or neutral side of the scale is a good track record, especially considering that the value going out was significantly overrated around here
That's fine that you don't agree with that but the consensus around the league is that Cronin has been fleeced in every trade besides the Jerami Grant deal which Dame was more responsible for making happen.
This really would be perfect. Dame would then have to open his request to include more than one destination.
And that's what I have been thinking for a bit... that Miami/Dame/Goodwin are trying to bully us into taking this crap offer. 4 first, Jovic/Jaquez is.... fine. I don't think we're going to get a Bridges. I'd rather have Simmons honestly, instead of Lowry. I just don't think that Brooklyn is going to help Miami get better.
I haven't really heard anyone say we got fleeced for CJ. For all intents and purposes, we traded CJ and Nance for Josh Hart and Jerami Grant. We got the TPE and the pick that we used to get Grant as part of that trade. The final score on the CJ trade is Jerami Grant and Matisse Thybulle.
Not even getting a single definitive blue chip prospect that you can hang your hat on. Sounds about right for sell low joe.
Blazers should get that 2029 swap and a 2nd or two; and Martin. And no protections on any of the first's. AND, the Blazers should get to dump Nurkic
I'm just not seeing where a blue chip prospect is going to come from..... from any team. Jaylen Brown? That requires Dame to be willing to agree to go to Boston AND it requires Boston to be willing to move Brown.
Who else is there to blame? Dame is the one who gave Joe a list of one team. Dame's agent is going around and telling teams not to trade for him. Who else is there to blame???? And I hope that Joe doesn't take it. Everything he's saying is that he's willing to wait.
Why Matisse and not Kris Murray? We got Kris from Josh Hart who came in the CJ deal. At the time everyone said we got fleeced. It turned out good, but again that's because Dame recruited Jerami. Cronin COULD have negotiated to get the better of the Pelicans' pick that year and didn't. The details matter.
THYBULLE CAME FROM THE JOSH HART TRADE!!!!!!!!!!! SOMEONE FUCKING STICKY THIS FOR ME! But yes... It's Grant/Thybulle/Murray.
Goodwin isn't the one who has final say. Joe can easily say no and tell Dame to suck it up. We all know he has no backbone to do such a thing though
Habla Espanol? We gave up 2 2nds for Matisse. Those 2 2nds came from GP2 for 5 2nds deal. Kris was the pick we got for trading Josh Hart to NYK.
