    His buyout is an issue

EuroLeague Final Four MVP Edy Tavares is being lured back to the NBA. The 31-year-old center has received an offer from the Portland Trail Blazers, sources tell BasketNews.

    Position: C
    Age: 31
    Height: 221 cm
    Weight: 120 kg
    Birth place: Cabo Verde

With 13 NBA games under his belt already, Tavares is eager to test himself in the NBA again and move to Portland for a multi-year contract.

The biggest obstacle to the deal is the massive buyout clause imposed by Real Madrid, which was included in a five-year contract signed in 2019.

Per BasketNews sources, the NBA buyout for Tavares is even higher than the €6M that Facundo Campazzo had to pay in 2020 to secure his move to the Denver Nuggets.

However, Tavares' contract with Real Madrid will expire in one year. The player from Cape Verde may be able to walk away for free in the summer of 2024.

Despite multiple reports suggesting that Tavares is nearing an agreement on a contract extension with Madrid, both parties are still far from reaching a deal, sources tell BasketNews.

JoCro screw up. Now that Lillard is leaving Heaven will be missing an Angel. So, he thought he'd bring in Tavares, but he accidentally is bringing in the wrong one. From 1976, here is the real deal (yes, I remember this song from the old days):

Jordan and Pippen were the only constants in their championship years.

Obviously a lot of players came and went throughout their careers.

Bill Cartwright, the Bulls starting center averaging 29 mpg, was nearly 34 years old when the Bulls won their first championship in 1991.

I dont think he comes. Portland is just leverage so that he can get a bigger deal in Europe

a buyout clause in his contract had to be satisfied. the buyout is worth $6 million and that the clause “remains a hurdle” Tavares must clear to return to the NBA.

Ahhh, nothing like summer time, when a marginal signing causes people to quit on the team and freak out and look for clues as to how this changes our trajectory. Dude is a center, we need more centers especially vets. Who gives a fuck? Also, this has nothing to do with Watford, like what? Watford was another marginal player, sure he had upside, but it's not like we just waived Jermaine O'Neal at the same age, it's Watford a decent bench marginal rotation player. If this helps us trade Nurk then this is awesome. Like talk about hot takes, some straight up Plasma tier hot takes get a grip!

Hes most likely not coming to Portland. It was all a leverage play to get a bigger contract in Europe

dammit! I still think Nurk is moved with the Lillard deal. Eubanks is a Sun. Who's gonna be the Blazers Center? Badji? Badji might be the only Center on the team?

Don't say John Butler please, no, don't do it. Did you watch the tank games? Butler got ragdolled, bless his heart, he's just too darn skinny to play in the paint.

The RM offer was like 3M euros and he hasn’t officially signed yet. It may be that he’s waiting something else out.

Awesome. I think these 5 guys have a better chance of helping the Blazers compete , than Walter does. I'm sure Joe is down at the Goodwill thrift center looking for other veteran help.

Badji is really Bad Ji. But if you're looking for daily fantasy help, pick whatever center is playing the Blazers once he is the starter.

That's what I am talking about. I'm not sure what path the Blazers are on.
