Bleed Miami dry. I kind of like this one, which combines a couple of rumors (i.e., Utah's interest in Herro, Philly's interest in Caleb Martin, Allen's availability). Portland Out: Dame, Nurk Portland In: Tobias Harris, Jarrett Allen, picks (from Miami) Utah Out: THT, Olynyk, Cleveland picks (2?) Utah In: Herro Cleveland Out: Jarret Allen Cleveland In: Olynyk, THT, their own picks Philly Out: Harris Philly In: Caleb Martin, Kyle Lowry Miami In: Dame, Nurk Miami Out: Lowry, Martin, Herro Jovic/Jacquez could go to Utah to sweeten the pot. I don't hate our roster balance afterwards, but it would need filled out of course. Scoot Ant/Sharpe Harris/Thybulle Grant/Walker Allen
Perhaps with one of Jacquez or Jovic or one of the Miami picks? They don't give a shit about Olynyk or THT.
Do you think he treats those Cleveland picks as super valuable? He has so many picks coming up he can't even use all of them.
For the life of me, I can't understand why we are the ones who have to be "motivated". I think it's on Miami to be the ones to show their interest.
Yep. The main MSM narrative is assbackwards but fits their agenda of moving Dame to a contender w/o said contender giving up anything.
Portland will lose lots of games next year. If Lillard is still around going into the season, Miami can't get everybody in to go after a championship. If Lillard sits by his choice, legacy damaged. If Lillard plays by his choice, risk of injury. If the team sits him to preserve value, then no one is held back from minutes and everyone knows what's up. Blazers wait. If Miami plays a waiting game, trade Lillard to a contender in the East and get a player (or players) they want to keep. Stick it to Miami. It's Lillard's fault for Miami only. It's Miami's fault for entitlement. Cronin will go down as the GM who traded away Lillard. Looking like a patient, smart GM should matter to him, or else he'll need to be fired. Patience is good. Portland has nothing to lose by doing so. The longer it goes, Toronto and OG + Gradey Dick + filler = Lillard is a huge win for Masai Ujiri who doesn't give a crap about what other GMs or teams will or won't risk. He did it with Kawhi Leonard and the Spurs and got one. This is just IMHO.
Gaming this out, even 'if' Riley forces Cronin into a terrible trade—with a future package being worse than a now trade—the difference between those two packages is so negligible that there's little risk in waiting.
I think Portland fans are focusing on the L takes. Most of the rational media I've read agrees the Miami package is a shitburger.
Miami might sign Dragic to minimum. There's your vet to show Scoot some PG knowledge. player/coach Goran.
Miami fans and Beat writers have been insufferable and have such an overinflated perception of value of their team. they thought we would bend over and it’s starting to sink in that we won’t fold. Fuck ‘em
Fuck them indeed. I literally had a Miami fan on Twitter tell me...wait, let me dig up the exact quote as it's NEXT LEVEL laughable, not to mention insulting & bad juju for him. "@DevnKurant · Jul 5 Have u seen what Nikola Jovic is becoming. He could be better than Dame. Better than Nikola Jokic. Go ahead and piss Dame off then. We’ll be fine. But the basketball gods will remember. Whatever assets u get back will be cursed. You think Bowie, Roy and Oden were bad luck? Lol." LOL WUT?!?!!? This guy needs to have his medication levels checked and perhaps have internet access at the state asylum restricted again.
