And it isn't just America that is responsible. Mexico has been dumping raw sewage just south of San Diego for decades, with little or no attempt made to fix the problem, despite intense pressure by the US. British Columbia has settled for basic primary treatment of its sewage, also for decades. Meaning that billions upon billions of partially treated wastewater has been pumped into the Straits of Juan De Fuca to be "diluted". They are only now in the midst of upgrades that aren't scheduled to take effect until 2026. Guess which state(s) are sandwiched between the pollution from those two countries?? When entities in Oregon (especially the big ones) violate, they get a slap on the wrist (if even that). It's the little polluters who pay the price because they can least afford to fight it. Money talks, bullshit ends up on the beach........

Actually it was Cambodia that accepted big bucks to dump garbage from my recollection. International waters nobody cares.

Clearly this is the fault of SlyPokerCat and his ilk, and the like, who, along with his friends, has been burying kitty roca at Oregon's beaches for years.

Wow, sounds like you have some sort of knowledge about this. Perhaps you worked in that industry for a couple decades or something.. what a waste of time that was since it simply comes down to blue tie=bad, red=good.

If green font is needed for that, you might want to turn off fox or CNN. Thank you for the well reasoned explanation, UCD

Being so aware of the corn side of things, you have very obviously toured wastewater treatment plants before..........bits of color in an other wise earth toned stream...........

I wonder how constipated someone would have to be to make poo-corn diamonds?

Oh Gawd, please don’t tell me you’re a civil….or even an uncivil….engineer. Wastewater treatment survives despite them……pirates are so much more respectable.

I'm thinking if you take a dump everyday on a Florida beach by the time you get back you'll have effectively bumped Oregon off the countries worst shitty beaches putting Florida smack in the lead until the next hurricane flushes it away

Okinawa in the mid-90s was pretty pristine. Then again, some interesting currents in that part of the ocean, so maybe...

Today is an absolute first! The very first time I have ever heard “Okinawa” and “honeymoon” used in any circumstances!
