    What Ruben did was unforgivable.

What Felton did just made him unlikable.

Come on now, one was a fat ass, the other is a registered sex offender, who plead guilty to attempted rape, assaulted a man for scratching his car and was arrested for felony domestic abuse.

That doesn't seem like a "tie".

Raping an underage nanny is an actual crime and quite a vile one. Being low motivation and eating too many cupcakes is neither a crime, nor particularly vile. It sucked for the franchise, but I mean come on.

My dream is that we make an amazing trade for Dame that brings us a dynasty, and Dame only returns here when his team is playing us.

Not sure if you're including me in this statement as I'm not sure I've ever alluded to knowing Dame's mind. I've been pretty clear I'm speculating on potential motivations. That said, I'm pretty sure if he got to know me, Dame would think I'm dope AF actually.

It's the fact he hasn't done that very thing (which is SO easy), that just screams to me. How could he not even acknowledge the fans? He is getting incredibly poor marketing advice.

Are there many people not acknowledging his incendiary talent? It seems to me the criticism of Dame has nothing to do with his play, little to do with wanting a trade where he can compete, and almost completely to do with dictating that he wants to go to Miami, but doesn't want our return to be too big so he can try to win a ring.

He's for sure getting terrible advice and his camp is filled with egregious morons who think in rather blatant "Ends justifies the means" mentality of a rather nasty sort. Whoever called other GM's is just a real piece of trash. The one team demand was bad, but that was not only almost certainly false (Dame sitting out? BWAHAHAHA), but also just super, super shitty. Not sure how some think that's no big deal and we shouldn't be super pissed about that.

Yeah, that's an upgraded dream for sure. I meant to imply we build a dynasty around Sharpe and Scoot. I'm fine with Dame winning rings in the interim if he comes back and wins even more with us and retires in Portland.

of course ..my disliked Blazer list is a small one. Off court reasons Pattersons actions were really serious however as a Knick Felton beat his girlfriend and threatened her with a gun...did community service in NYC to pay off his fine.had a restraining order...she wasn't underaged but he assaulted her violently. Ray was worse than just a foot dribbling jiggler

I don't wish Dame any ill will, but as Lord Merlynn once wrote, "You can never go home again." He had one of the all-time great runs here as a Blazer, but it's clear that time is either coming to an end, or has already ended. At this point, I would be surprised if he went to Springfield as a Blazer. I'm expecting Clyde, Part Deux.

I had not heard that and I stand corrected in the sense Felton was involved in criminal assault. Patterson is still worse, but I want to acknowledge that your stance is more reasonable with that additional info.

yes...that's it....it's about his Miami or bust stance right now and what his agent did

it's not about him "not winning shit"; that's a red herring. Just a way to diminish what he did for Portland before the trade demand

lol...you really didn't make a point so profound it was beyond my mental capacity

you're essentially saying that Kobe earned enough gravity with Laker fans he could be forgiven for being an asshole whereas Dame didn't. And the reason why Kobe was forgiven for being an even bigger asshole than Dame is rings, even though Kobe didn't "win shit" without all-NBA teammates

I have yet to see you tie your last point to my point even a little bit. So you can demonstrate that you understand my point but you just tack on this weird issue about why Dame did or did not win. It’s irrelevant. And if you think it IS relevant you need to explain WHY it’s relevant.

The good thing about being very old is that seasons go by very quickly. Dame will be out of the league before I remember where I left the car keys.

But whether I remember his name or not, he'll always be someone who played here for a certain amount of time, just like Shawn Kemp and Jason Jennings and Qyntel Woods.

And that’s why I keep saying that winning or not winning a ring will affect how people remember him after this whole debacle.
