Yeah I've been thinking this too. Maybe he truly does NOT want to play for any other team and that he either plays with Bam and Jimmy or stay with the Blazers rather than going anywhere else.
This is so weird in todays day and age. With social media being the predominant form of communication, this drama has taken over the summer. And how negotiations aRe done through reporter puppets airing it all out instead of behind closed doors over an evening, is just crazy to me. like i read someone else say, everyone is flinging so much shit on the wall, something is bound to stick and prove someone right. oh….and fuck shams with a shammy wrapped baseball bat ten times on Sunday. Okay, that’s a bit rough. Five times on a Tuesday.
If that's the case he and his agent aren't very smart. Miami doesn't have the assets that Phoenix had to trade for Durant. I'm curious what the two of them thought a trade would look like. It's seems like it would be something laughable.
They have these: Lowry Martin Jaquez Jovic Herro converted into 1FRP by another team FRPs and pick swaps So in theory, that will work, but Miami isn't interested in offerering anywhere close to that
That's what I think as well. Unless Miami utterly empties the cupboard and fleeces a 3rd team for us to give us a King's ransom, we'd rather just bring Dame back unless/until we get an offer that blows us away. Which is exactly what we should be doing. I'm quite proud of Joe so far. Question, when is Jaquez able to be traded? Until that date comes and goes I think we can't know for sure that the MIA trade is dead.
The 1sts in your first trade are pretty bad other than maybe that Miami 2030. It really hinges on Simmons getting back into the game. I love the idea of getting Simmons, but we need some real value from them in return. I really like this trade as we get a bunch of length and/or wings & youth here:
This needs some tinkering, but this seems fairly reasonable for all teams assuming you value Lillard as the game's best closer >> Jaylen Brown. It also feels like it might be a slight overpay for Houston, but Houston also seems ready to get back into contention and they'd be looking pretty good with Sengun, Smith, Brown, Brooks and Van Fleet. Great balance on that starting lineup. I really like Horford in the locker room as well and then we move on from Nurk.
Gotta get at least one pick I feel like. Amen could be amazing, but he's not close to Dame, and neither is Eason. Porter Jr. is way undersized and honestly was put in for salary matching reasons. Amen Thompson + Tari Eason isn't good enough. Maybe cut to one pick and I'd want the 2025 swap from BKN or OKC at a minimum. Also, if we aren't getting picks then I want Thompson + Smith but that leaves Houston unbalanced in the front court. I mean I'd take that I guess, but I wouldn't be thrilled and I don't think Houston would do that.
I agree with you in spirit I’m just being realistic about what Houston values right now. I don’t think KPJ is a piece worth keeping—I am just very high on both Amen and Eason, I think they’re both going to be very good NBA players. I don’t think they’re going to trade Jabari in any scenario. And as an aside, I think the Houston/Jaylen idea in general doesn’t hold a lot of water, if I’m Houston why push that many more chips in without seeing what you have with Brooks, FVV and Udoka first?
I am pretty confident the Houston Rockets would have no interest in Dame or Jaylen Brown for the asking price. They LOVE Eason, Jabari, Amen
You don't think Udoka loves Jaylen? I agree all three wouldn't go. But I could see them being open to 2 of their young assets being moved.
let’s put it this way: would people trade ant, scoot and sharpe for eason, amen and jabari? the latter two could be perpetual all-stars. and eason will probably be all-defense at some point.
