I think you reroute Herro elsewhere for a pick, get Lowry's expiring, and then send Portland Jaquez and potentially a pick from Martin. Don't care about Orlando Robinson, Jovic or Highsmith.
Robinson can't be traded until December. I only put Highsmith in to match salaries. Jovic I would rather have than not but he's the 7th valued piece coming back so not critical.
I was still assuming that Herro would go out for a pick, but honestly I have no idea who at this point....
My issue with Jovic is I don't know if he has upside for a legit marketable NBA skill. Can't shoot yet, can't play defense yet. Seems to have okay movement for a big, but that's about it. I'd be fine with a placeholder big or two this season and drafting a couple next summer vs. investing development minutes and energy into Jovic. (I do get that there will be a lot of scratcher fliers over the next few years—I'd prefer to get those as cast offs vs. in the context of a Dame trade where we're trying to extract maximum value).
I'm not sure on Jovic at all either. But I haven't written his future off completely. He's young enough and has enough flashes to maybe do something eventually. Jovic basically is a cast off in a Dame trade. If we don't get him what asset do we get instead? Miami just doesn't really have other assets to throw in.
I’d rather get/reroute Martin and send him to a team he’d be interested in re-signing with for either a draft pick or a young player. and if you say ‘I want jovic ‘and’ martin ‘and’ Jaquez’ I’d say ‘okay I’ll take jovic’; I don’t get the impression Miami has put much of anything on the table at this point, even though their max offer requires a lot of creativity to become palatable.
I'd rather have a pick than any of martin/Jovic/vasquez. None of them are great prospects or fits. I think when I threw up the proposal it was only two teams just for simplicity.
I peaked in for a couple minutes just to verify he would be whinning. He was. No research into the fact AD was in fact fined for demanding a trade to LAL. Typical.
This reminds me of that old Google game where you type in Florida man and let it autocomplete and hilarity ensued. "Florida Man with a poor grasp of the English language, the memory of a gnat, the research skills of a paint-huffing Zoomer, and a room temperature IQ, somehow has wherewithal to log on to the internet and say stuff".
Great weather, amusement parks, beaches and restaurants. No income tax. It's a great state to live in. Sure they got a bunch of nutjobs in the government. I wouldn't say local Portland leaders are immune to that stupidity though.
I would live there if I was worth even a million or so, or if my income was about twice or three times what it currently is. No state income tax, amazing weather, beautiful beaches, and if I was single the whole throngs of gorgeous women thing wouldn't hurt. Lots to like about Florida, especially if you are a business owner.
What we need to start talking about, is if Miami wants Dame that bad, why not give us back close to equal value, which would be Bam. Dame and Nurk for Bam, Lowry for salary reasons and some picks or a couple young players. If the Heat offered something like this, I'm sure Dame would be in Miami already
