I won’t make you wait long. We signed Grant, Nurk, and Ant as free agents. Norm Powell too. In the last 2 years!

I think what a lot of Dame simps are overlooking -- probably deliberately -- is Dame isn't just asking for a trade to one specific team. He's deliberately poisoning the waters so that team doesn't have to give up anything of value in return.

That narrative isn't getting enough play, and it really should.

I try and play this narrative several times a day every day, because it's not so much narrative as it is fact.

Didn't you hear? Joe lied to Dame. Said he was going to push all his chips in Shae,Scoot,Simons,Nurk for a Siakam rental and he didn't.

It's not a bad take at all.
Two problems i see here in all of this.
Joe is incompetent and can't seem to build a solid team without losing a bunch of games and getting luck in the lotto. Obviously that has not happened. They missed two years in a row. Seems like he will continue to lose until they get a good pick.

Second. Dame signed a huge extension and then asked out. He is not a free agent but still wants to dictate where he wants to go. Maybe he should have thought about that before signing the contract?

You consider Scoot and Sharpe misses in the lotto?

Don't be silly. It's pretty clear he was talking about signing a free agent from another team. When is the last time we signed a good free agent that was not a re-signing. Wesley Matthews?

Sharp could become a good player but dunking is not what wins in this league. I see nothing in Scoot that tells me he is special. Hoping he becomes a serviceable PG.
Damian Lillard consistently showed us the will to win in HUGE situations. Sharp and Scoot have not even got the team to those situations and are still years from ever doing so.
Are we going to start saying Scoot and Sharpe need quality pieces around them? Really?

I get that we have historically been challenged to pick up free agents. Have had to trade or draft. I am thinking in player retention of those we manage to get. I have to believe that even the new guys we picked up are watching and have been schooled by current roster on how the promises to build around Dame never came to fruition.

Why do you have to believe that? Why wouldn't you believe that Dame going to the playoffs here 8 of his first 9 years, being giving input into player acquisition, being given input into the coaching hire, being given a super-max contract and even having his cousin put on the roster for two years would be something the new guys were watching?

Yeah the experts around the league think that Scoot's game is a lot like a mix of Derrick Rose as far as offensive skills and Russell Westbrook as far as physicality at his position. I would say that's pretty exciting since those are two MVP winners who won those MVPs on skill sets that Scoot seems to combine and neither of whom have Scoots vocal positivity and charismatic leadership. @kjironman1 didn't even spell Shaedon's last name correctly, so that's kind of problematic. Calling the guy only a dunker means that you haven't watched the dude shoot from distance or seen all of his very effective midrange game including an almost unguardable turnaround fadeaway. Also inside he's more of an elite finisher than just a dunker given how he finishes contested layups.

Also both of these guys show elite level mobility and at times tenacity on defense.

Tell Giannis, Shaq, Kobe, MJ, and LeBron that dunking doesn’t win in this league. The goal of any winning offense is to get the easiest baskets possible. GS is exception because they have two of the best longball shooters ever. But Shaedon is more than just a dunker anyway. Almost everyone, including the top scouts in the world, disagree with you on Scoot. And Scoot and Sharpe will need solid pieces around just like any stars do to win a championship. What a bizarre thing to question.

You don’t think he will be a serviceable point guard? Wow?
I kind of think Sharp will be good? Thought that was a given at this point?

You just compared Sharpe to Giannis and Michael Jordan. Not to mention Shaq?
You have a pretty long history of being over the top.
This might be one of those times sir.
