3yr. max extension for Anfernee Simons all but guaranteed. Might as well give one to Coach Billups too while the Blazers are on a roll.

Consider the source. Consider who might be telling the source this narrative. Lastly, consider why the orgin of the information would want that specific narrative leaked.

    who says he hasn't?

if Miami's best offer was Herro + Robinson + two first's in 2028 & 2030, why should Cronin listen to any more of that bullshit until Miami gets serious....and by all reporting, they aren't serious yet

When Miami makes a serious offer, Portland will seriously listen.

It is kinda funny how Miami wants Damian, but idiots on twitter still are like "Portland hasn't told them what they want".

If I want a car, I make an offer and then they counter. Not the other way around.

"I paid people on the internet to say Pagani Huayra's are worthless cars over and over until I got a cease and desist order from Pagani laywers. Then I went to the dealership and offered them $2 for their Pagani Huayra supercar and they didn't even give me a counter offer! I'm pretty sure they broke the law!"

Those were two bad years but we’ve been mostly great at drafting. Dame, Shaedon, Ant, GTJ, and Scoot are good picks. 2017 was a disaster though. Worse than 2016 & 2019 summers and those were awful.

    He has.
Miami has made an offer. Joe said it's not good enough, and we need more. There was a report of the minimum of what Portland will accept.

Miami is complaining that Portland will not 'negotiate' further.

Well, on the bright side Cronin has made it possible we never have to give that 1st rounder to Chicago.

    So funny.

Not even the least little bit concerned. We have control over our players for like 8 years.

Players are going to sign with whoever offers them the most money, almost always.

This changes absolutely nothing for Portland.

Not surprising, but also WOW! In before Dame Camp apologists say, "Well Dame has every right not to play, heck he could and should punch babies around Portland until the FO trades him for a second rounder and a used pair of Riley's boxers, he's earned it!"

Can and will are two very different things

I would wager Silver doesn't veto a Dame trade. That's a slippery slope.

Odds are you are correct. But if enough owners reached out to Silver and said to stop this bullshit, he might. What I am getting at, where does it end? Why have a GM if players can basically trade themselves. That is what Dame/Goodwin are attempting with the help of Riley. So they are affecting the competitive balance of the NBA. I understand that small market teams like Portland, Utah, Minny, Memphis, SA all have to draft incredibly like SA has with Robinson, Duncan, Manu, Leonard and now Wemby. That is the only way they can compete. But when a player with four years left on his contract and a super max too boot can damage a franchise as such, he is also damaging the league. Might as well put all the franchises in the big cities and nice weather states. London has probably 15 soccer teams with 3 or 4 in the EPL. It can be done. Pretty sure teams like Portland do not wish to be used as nurseries for the other Teams. Regardless, if this ends badly with Dame, it will probably be a bridge too far for me. The finals were not must see tv for me for some time now. I suspect the Suns will be fun to watch since I live in the desert.

"Two years ago, I asked Aaron [Goodwin] what Dame’s leverage was: He was a very much under contract star, and they were anticipating/considering demanding a trade at that time. There was a lot of tension and they tried to use that leverage to get them to upgrade the roster in Portland. And so I asked, “What is his leverage? He’s just gonna have to go play to make his money, right?” And Aaron said “Are you fucking kidding me? You really don’t know?”

… And so the threat is to not play: the “James Harden model” and that’s what Aaron Goodwin explained to me in great detail, in specific details, saying “This front office that might want to trade for Dame? Every single one of them is going to lose their job before he ever suits up there.”

Context: this conversation between Abbott and Goodwin was around the time James Harden was causing a stink to get out of Houston."

So basically this was a plan hatched two years ago? this legit?

If Abbott quoted him like this, and he didn't say it, he could sue the shit out of Abbott.
