You would, but it's not nearly the given you make it out to be. It's a rarity that people are able to be objective about their own lives and situations, and history and all of our friend circles are littered with examples of "Why the heck did they do that? It makes no sense."
I’m pretty sure the league having interviewed Dame and his agent over this have given Dame a wake up call as to understanding his situation. There's no doubt Dame has hurt his brand with the way he's handled his ring chase given the soapbox he's been preaching from for over a decade. Given how this reflects on his Blazer teammates and coaching staff, it's a clear message of, you're not good enough for me and that in fact is arrogance. Sad thing is I still don't think Dame wins a ring with Miami given the Nuggets, Bucks, Celtics and Suns will all be deeper than Miami after a Dame trade.
Hey I'm on your side. I'm just saying I see how someone else can see the other side. By now most people should know I turned on dame lol
If Miami media can start rumors and make fake news why can't we? There should be a new team interested in Dame every day. Drive Goodwin crazy not being able to refute it.
We dont even need it to be real. Just the appearance should be enough for Riley to put up a legit offer. That's effectively what David Griffin said about the Davis trade. Just having Boston lurking as a possibility allowed them to extract a ton out of LA.
To entertain this rumor though.... "Darkhorse" intimates that it prolly isn't BK/NY/PHI. I'm hoping its Toronto. Chicago would be interesting. Another team that has vets and wants to win now. Not sure they're positioned to be a contender even with Dame but they pose some interesting multi team possibilities. Milwaukee would be a true darkhorse in every sense. But they don't have anything tradeable of value.
Thank you. Been calling for this since the request. Barnes and fillers. And maybe a pick if we can squeeze it out of them. And this is formidable: Dame Trent OG Siakam Poeltl
Toronto still has the pieces to make a run with Dame. The question is if you're okay with taking Barnes and GTJ and no picks because I don't think Masai would do Barnes AND picks.
Toronto missed the playoffs last season. They aren't even mediocre. Has the Raptor's roster improved from last season? Indiana and Orlando should see some improvement from 2022-23 to 2023-24.
Dame/OG/Siakam is a pretty darn good trio. It's not Dame/Jimmy/Bam but overall they have a better roster than Miami. I think they could contend if they stay healthy.
Wouldnt have include GT. Boucher, Barnes, Young, Porter jr. Dick, Achiuwa gets you there. As the pieces you keep, Barnes/Precious/Dick combo is better than anything Miami gives us.
