He wasn’t All NBA or even an All Star last season. He has a LOT of room to grow: Ja has won ROTY and MIP too.

Yeah it would. And they would be in the mix. Maybe not top tier contenders due to the dominance of the Nuggets that is expected and the improvements Phoenix has made but they would be playing in the mix in my opinion. 4-6 seed?

Cheap if they can re-sign him......horrible if they can't.

Do you think Dame & Scoot would be good together?

Dame and Shae would work and Dame and Thybulle would work.

Dame and Scoot could work as well if Dame was ok with playing off the ball for 15v minutes a game. I think it would be good for him to try.
Defensively we don't know if it would work, but Scoot does have the strength and quickness to guard most backup SGs for 15 minutes a game.

This is all moot because I doubt he is coming back. This is just a threat so other teams will pony up

What improvements did Phoenix make? Eubanks? As a point guard, Beal is a downgrade from Chris Paul.

Dame flat out said he didn't want anything to do with 19 year olds. Portland drafted two and a third, older rookie. Pretty sure he meant it. But hey, Miami drafted a rookie.

Toronto is setting up a big time tank if they accept that crummy deal. Raptors taking notes from Cronin:
terrible trades = losing = draft good rookies

They will have a full season of Durant. That is a huge Improvement. No Beal is not a downgrade from Paul. Chris Paul very seldom stays healthy at this point of his career. Beal is 29 and Paul is 37.
I actually like what Chris Paul brings. He did give 8+ assists last year but nobody looking at the Suns thinks Beal is a downgrade at this point. At the very least they are saying it's comparable due to the fact that Beal gives you 23+ points a game and 5 assists.
Most are also saying Vogel is a better fit to coach them.
Bottom line- They need to stay healthy. Vogel needs to get the right system in place. Ayton needs to show up. There were a number of rumors Monty simply didn't get along with Ayton and Chris Paul was a bit toxic on that team.

Yeah, I am not sure if CP3 lost any of his defensive ability last year. But before that, he was still pretty good.

But when you have KD and Booker I am not sure you need a traditional PG to run the offense. So Beal IMO is an upgrade on offense. I just think they will be mediocre on D, maybe even below that.

That is possible. Just don't think Paul was their defensive linchpin.
