I got it. Dame with Scoot on the bench won't do nothing for Dame. If you don't want to trade Scoot, you can't help Dame to bring allstar here.
So your plan is to stay in the play in fight.

Yes, there have been great point guards from great teams who led their teams as their best players. Curry, who isn't a traditional PG at all, is the most recent outlier. As a scoring guard, or undersized SG, he's amazing. Lillard hasn't had much support as the other great point guards did. And if Scoot doesn't, either, then I expect the same story even if Scoot becomes as good as one of the top 75 players, ever. Would you or anyone here want the best player on the Blazers to be a forward or a point guard? For me, that's not even remotely close. I can see Scoot as a potential all star. Superstar? He won't have a shot without a better shot from 3 along with serious chops on D. Sharpe has a longggggg way to go. Maybe Scoot will be that rare PG.

[IMHO, Billups, wasn't Detroit's best player. Great? Not really. Magic had a ton of help and was their best player, though even older Kareem is way up there. They had ridiculous talent.]

What's your plan? Trade Scoot for Giannis?

I am not GM, so I don't have "my plan".
If I was, I would want to start from 0. Trade Lillard and see IF Billups can work with Scoot and Shea.

Scoot said he wants to become the best PG in NBA history. Giannis is a washed up vet that can't even beat the crummy Heat in the playoffs.

I don't think either of us knows the answers to several of those questions. If Dame is smart, his game will evolve. Does his ego let him do that? I'm not sure. Guys like him get where they are a lot of times more by being confident and less from being smart and they can't adjust to the times. I think Scoot running the offense definitely will create an offense where the ball moves better and eventually is better on defense, and I am pretty confident Scoot's heart and passion for the game is near the top of our roster now, but it does remain to be seen.

The point I was making initially, though, and it wasn't meant as a shot at your post and I apologize if it came off that way, is that the whole "Blazers drafted Dame's replacement" is a flawed narrative that doesn't stand up to scrutiny. Eventually, yes, he would replace Dame. However, there's no reason that has to be an immediate thing unless Dame's ego makes him take it that way. They easily could play off each other for several years before Scoot became the undisputed face of this team and its fulltime PG.

well, you know... the Blazers made the right call picking CJ McCollum over Giannis. We had LaMarcus Aldridge all geared up for a new contract extension. Plus the menacing Meyers Leonard in the bullpen. There was absolutely no need to draft big guys. McCollum was and always has been the correct draft decision.

On top of that, the 2021 Milwaukee championship was a total fluke. Only reason the Bucks won is because the Suns were handing off the choke baton between teammates.

No need to apologise, we just talking;)

I have seen enough last ten years to not exercise the idea of Dame and Scoot on the court together. Just no.
If Scoot will be your 2nd PG it would be nice.
Although we would be play in team with nice 2nd PG. What's the point.
All I say is, we should go some direction.

did you post this from your phone using your toes? Good grief man, have some pride. Who knows what you meant to say, but I know for sure we are not in agreement about what you posted prior. When I speculate about something where I don't have all the facts, I go out of my way to specify I'm speculating & not pretending I'm in the know of secret info. That you're accusing others of what you've been doing is why the board has been laughing at you

Others are doing what you perceive me as doing, that's the point.
I've seen that done with Dame to the point where people are wishing for him to rot in Portland and let father time do it's work on him. But you don't care about that as long as it lines up with your opinion, because it's the difference of opinion that makes you angry. Or maybe the baseless assumption that I'm pretending to hear things even though I never would and never needed to. My pride lies in being unafraid about speaking my mind and being straight up and honest about what I've heard despite the inevitable backlash and assumptions about my intentions and character. So this forum is laughing? Hah.

Dame unfollows the Blazers on IG

Every time I see this thread title, it sort of reminds me of the petty side of all of this. Dame might be the most lowkey drama queen of all time.
