Had it twice. Vaccinated and one boost. My brother and his family tested positive, apparently, so here I am, taking a test. Thought we were done with this.
Sounds good, he had a flu like he said he's never experienced with all the hallmarks of C19. Wife was the same way in January of 20, a 'flu' ran through a rival dance team at the competition they were at. Wife is physically fit, came home and it was like she'd be run over by a truck, couldn't get up the stairs without stopping, was on the couch feeling like she'd never felt before. We chalked it up to stress of competing at nationals and at the same time going for her doctorates, but looking back, pretty obvious she had C19 as well.
I've seen no evidence to suggest otherwise that doesn't also have a reasonable explanation. I'm not opposed to it being here sooner, either. But until I see evidence to suggest otherwise it doesn't make sense to doubt the official story.
The age groups mean something. If I have a 0% chance of succumbing to an illness I am not going to take an experimental vaccine for it that has known side effects. If someone falls into the riskier age group categories, that is their decision to weigh out and they absolutely have the right to choose either way. Now that we know the vaccine has essentially no effect whatsoever on inhibiting the spread of the disease and its variants, the arguments for forcing or shaming young people to take the vaccine “for the greater good” hold no water. If you’re at risk, go get the juice. If you aren’t, I would strongly suggest weighing the options.
I respect your opinion and your right to assess your own health and make your own decisions around that. It’s your choice to make. I do find the statement above to be contradictory though, simply based on my own worldview. The simplest explanation I can give is that I believe the policy making and opinions of the ‘certified experts’ is absolutely shaped and molded by the power and coercion of the elites you mentioned. I don’t find those two groups to be at odds with each other, but more so working hand in hand. My example would be a cutthroat capitalist with zero credentials like Bill Gates emerging during a pandemic, camouflaging himself as an expert to reshape the public discourse, then slithering back into the weeds after being rewarded handsomely through hedging and investments.
Not sure where you get your info from but your claims are both broad and inaccurate assumptions; 1. No one has "0 chance" of succumbing to covid. 2. Claiming the vaccines have no effect on inhibiting the spread of covid is patently false and laughable. And how do know that you had covid as you claimed instead of the flu?
The reason I created this thread was just to see how people are still dealing with it. In another thread one of our peeps said they tested positive. So I’m curious why did you take a covid test? What do you do if it comes back positive. I had read that people aren’t isolating for 2 weeks anymore, so just wondering what next if you get it?
I have a newborn in the house, so I wanted to be safe since I saw my brother the other day. Whether others are isolating or not, I'm sure there are hundreds walking around that are positive right now. People are back to normal and most aren't testing if they have symptoms. I think protocol is 5 days though? https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/isolation.html
Last week of February 2020, flying from Miami to Toronto…..5 feet away from me Gary Trent Jr. And CJ McCollum are sneezing and coughing the whole time. (When a player gets sick, protocol is to move them away from the other players and back with us) I woke up the next day sicker than I’ve been in YEARS! They sent me to the team doctors and gave me a mask. Tested positive for Influenza 2. Sick for a week and then back at it. So when COVID broke out, a few months later they brought us in to get a blood test to see if we had ever got it and I swore I had, they said nope. I think that’s what confused me the most. All of the symptoms sound like a really bad flu.
Decimal percentages in the tenths and hundredths of zero are as good as zero to me. You are using technicalities to make a weak point. Also, you’re engaging in a discussion with a forum full of vaccinated people who’ve had Covid. The effectiveness of the vaccine in reducing symptoms is up for debate but the idea it prevents infection or transmission isn’t really being touted anymore. We took Covid tests to determine we were positive.
Bill Gates is simply a funding mechanism. Same as Elon Musk. They aren't expert professionals, IMO. When their considerable influence supports things actual expert professionals think need supported I appreciate them. SpaceX, nuclear energy development, vaccination, etc... When they make selfish moves that hurt the greater good like Twitter/X or the funding used as leverage that has screwed up many schools I don't appreciate them. Expert professionals are certified as such and bring forth actual data with the only real motivation being the use of said data to make better choices moving forward. Regardless of which direction that data supports.
Were you one of those people who actually thought the vaccine kept you from getting it? Or actually thought people who got the vaccine thought that? I can’t believe I’m asking somebody this after everything we went thru.
The benefits of the vaccine are you are not as sick as long or as severe. If you are not as sick as long you are not spreading it as much. Not spreading it as much means it fewer people getting ill. This is how the flu vaccine also works. Every year they try to predict the flu variants that will spread around the world. They make a vaccine for them. The vaccine doesn't prevent infection and transmission, but it does reduce the severity and transmission.
And if you are vaccinated and have a lighter case, you are not using limited space and personnel at hospitals.
lol...you're the one who use the term "zero" ...and you're the one try to make a point based on "technicalities"... thanks for the comedic relief. How do you think the parents of the youngsters who died from covid feel? And the effectiveness of the vaccines are not "up for debate"... they are a fact. But you already knew that, right? I kinda figured you got tested, just wanted to hear you say it. So lemme get this straight, you believe in the science used to make a test to show whether someone has covid or not but you somehow don't believe in the science that clearly shows the vaccines both slow the spread of covid but also saves lives. Again, thanx for the comedic relief.
It's sad that it's been what, 3 years since the vaccine? And it STILL needs to be explained to people how a vaccine works. I guess it's easy to not trust science if, instead of listening to the science, you filter it through a talking head telling you what to think about the science.
