sub teletubbies. He plays ZERO defense. Not what the team needs. I would much rather have Zach Collins. Pat Riley is clearly an exceptional judge of talent. What are the odds that he gives up a guy he sees as a future star in this sort of a trade? Dame is forcing the trade and will pout unless he is a fucking Heat. Other teams won't touch Dame with a 10 ft pole because he could throw a tantrum and just ask out. AGAIN. That is why the league released the memo. All of it had the same effect, even if it wasn't the league's intention: Dame is happy in MIA and that's it. The league probably did Pat a favor by releasing the memo. Signals to MIA that Dame is mansion shopping in MIA. So, no, I don't see Riley wringing his hands with sweaty brow over losing Jovic. I play the odds.
I can already picture Cronin trying to explain why Miami wouldn't include Jovic in trade negotiations and we just had to accept not getting him for reason X.
I don't know about you... but for me Miami needs to send out Herro and two out of Jovic, Jaquez and Martin along with their first rounders. Anything less than that and I'm more than Archie Bunker level pissed off. I think Miami values Martin more than Jovic or Jaquez so I expect it to be those two prospects but maybe I'm wrong. Some fans of our team in this forum think it should be Herro, Jovic, Jaquez, Martin, all of the Heat's picks and no bad contracts or they'll be Archie Bunker pissed off. I don' think that's realistic but if that's Joe's breaking point I could see why. Jovic by himself isn't a deal maker or breaker for me but if he isn't part of this deal it'll just be one more piece that has some value that the Heat are withholding in a deal where they most definitely will not send out equal value for the asset they are getting. So I think Jovic should be part of the deal and I kind of think he will be but again if we can get better value from a fourth team for Martin then maybe that's better than Jovic.
Is Zach done with all his injuries? If so sure I am not sure we know yet if Jovic's defense is as horrible as you suggest. But to your point, most stretch 4s are not usually all NBA defenders. However, they can be very effective if they fit with the rest of the team. I mean Michael Porter Jr. is not exactly a great defender. For the future, if we have a 4 who can score (and pass) it allows us to start a Center or SF who is more defensive-minded but who might be limited offensively. (assuming our guards can score) We want a team full of 2-way players but I don't think that is realistic.
I'm not saying he will be a superstar but what if he's a role playing starter level of these two SOFT players who weren't even born in the states?
I don't understand. Is Jovic good on offense? Where would Jovic be on a list of players you'd want in return for Damian Lillard? He wouldn't be on my list at all.
those are 3rd string rookie bench stats. Garbage time cleanup, no actual rotation time. It would be like comparing Jovic stats to John Butler stats before the 12 game lose for Scoot tankathon. Very limited action
