They would if he replaced the X with twitter and deleted everything in the url from the question-mark and after.
Already holding my breath because of Torey. Might be left holding something else if this trade doesn't happen.
Just because it bears literally endless repeating, FUCK MIAMI and FUCK THEIR FANS. Literally, they make Lakers fans seem like philanthropic, high-IQ, Nobel Peace Prize winners who spent 4+ years in finishing school. Holy fuck I hate them. Please for the love of all that is holy, God, do NOT let Lillard be traded to Miami. I'm legit willing to take a worse offer from any other team at this point. Cue some poster to say "blah blah glad you aren't in charge, who cares if you reward bad behavior and set a precedent that destroys the league, you got a tad more value now.". No.
I'm fine with Dame leaving, what I'm absolutely NOT OK with, is the WAY that Dame left. He and Goodwin will have established hands down the most dangerous, and toxic precedent in League history for "undesirable destinations" like Portland. I really, really pray we don't gift Riley/Goodwin/Dame for their egregious awful, and borderline illegal (in terms of the CBA) activities. I cannot possibly express how much I dislike it, Miami, their FO, and especially their god awful fans who deserve NOTHING!
Yep, this is my issue too. I'm fine with him leaving, but he totally showed his true colors and is no different then all of the players he talked shit about.
He's actually among the worst for me at this point, by a large margin. I have Dame VERY low on my NBA list of players with character. His behavior this summer is far, FAR worse than anything I've seen outside of outright criminal activities such as beating one's wife etc.
I agree completely. I am simply offended that the Toronto and Philly GM's can play hard ball and expect a shit ton and over value their assets but Portland/Cronin can not. This is the passage that fired me up; "I'm just going off a Shams report. And piecing together what Eric heard regarding his utter reluctance to do anything with #3 two weeks before the draft plus talking to Dame about keeping the pick two days before the draft, which I don't think they do unless they fully plan on keeping it." The "his" is Cronins. My take is that Cronins "utter reluctance to do anything with #3..." as BonesJones put it is simply Joe playing hard ball Just like the Toronto and Philly GM's are doing and I would add Riley as well. That is the way the game is played. I take Scoot, Ant, Sharpe and Ayton all day everyday.
Dame's loyalty was broken and it wasn't just by Cronin it was by years, a decade almost of empty promises from Olshey. When Cronin showed himself to be the same Dame realized he was out for himself and no one was in it with him. That's the truth. I don't think he hates Joe for it but I think it made him feel like he'd been an "idiot" for all these years and Dame doesn't want to see himself that way. So he took power over those that he saw as trying to victimize him so he wouldn't be a victim. You can hate Dame for that but I think it was the natural progression of this situation. You know this team's management has been absolute shit. You know that Cronin three straight times (both of his drafts and his second trade deadline) said he'd push all of his chips in and he just didn't figure out a way to do it that made sense to him. What else would you have Dame do? Do you want him to play nice after he had an epiphany that this game was cut throat? Nah, I don't blame Dame, I don't blame Joe, I do blame fucking Olshey. If you can't see what Dame has been through for our team and get where he's coming from than honestly you're just an average person with very very very little empathy.
