Is this a trade where Nurkic gets traded for Ayton, and Dame gets traded for Herro and a pick or two? What am I missing? How is that decent?
"I feel the Bucks need to move on from Giannis and let (insert interim coach) build his team his way, oh and it's Giannis for Little, Simons and a 2nd rounder. Just move on Milwaukee!"
Blazers already have 5 of them, Jovic and Jaquez are third stringers. So getting those two and Ayton doesn't sound good at all for Dame and Nurk. Better have bunch of picks.
So maybe Riley Cronin and Jones in Phoenix have all agreed to the deal and are getting ownership final approval? Guess I don't understand the wait, normally once it's done we get the woj bomb.
Odd if we keep Herro but not Jovic Jaquez? Maybe you were just listing the two biggest names.... I like Herro but yeah doesn't make sense here..... Who knows we've been saying that with guards for longer than I can remember,
If we trade Dame to Miami for a nothing burger I think I am going to struggle to watch this team. Why get attached to Scoot and Sharpe when they are already breaking ground on their LA, Miami, Boston or what have you mansions? They won't stay, they will probably force their way outs seconds after the ink dries on their second contract. I just do not, do NOT understand how this can happen. What I mean is, why would Portland agree to destroy its chances for a Championship for all of time and simultaneously nuke the 85% of the League FOREVER by granting Dame what he wants? WHY?!?!?! I'm legit struggling to understand how you don't just either A) Not trade him, or B) Trade him literally anywhere but Miami. By doing this, you're signing your own death warrant and ensuring that this franchise and about 23 others are done FOREVER!
The Blazers must maximize value on youngish, real players and picks for their top 75 player ... who at 33 and Butler at 34 have about a 3 year window. In contrast, Portland is looking at a 3 year runway for its youth. Lillard with the Heat makes them a contender in the East along with Boston, Milwaukee, and Philadelphia. Cleveland, New York, Indiana, and Toronto will be winning games. Lillard may push Miami over the top but not for long.
OK. How does that help us to avoid you know, the Armageddon of no player will EVER stay past their rookie contract? You do realize that the runway you describe is exactly the length of Sharpe's contract which he will just re-sign, and then demand a trade because, why not, we will just send him anywhere he wants for pennies on the dollar because, why wouldn't we just take a shot gun and blow off our own leg?
Dude literally listed 5 players already on our roster as the key to a post Lillard trade Blazers. If we flip Nurk and something for Ayton then we're just trading Dame for Jaquez and Jovic? That's beyond stupid.
For Lillard I expect a great young player like Scottie Barnes, or a collection of multiple picks with far lesser players like Jovic Jaquez. If not then keep Lillard regardless of it being awkward.
