Soschan can play some minutes at SF. Wemby is a good shooter so it would work fine with spacing on offense. Defensively those two as forwards is scary. As another poster said - literally nobody on this forum believes the Spurs view Soschan as a bench player. Some might argue he's their 2nd most valuable player after Wemby.
Wemby and Scoot "haven't done anything yet" Soschan has been effective in the NBA which is more than them Those two rookies are still worth a ton in trades, even haven't doing anything yet. Kyle Lowry has "done things" and nobody cares. Players value is based on a projection of what the WILL do not what they HAVE done.
If their plan is to start Wemby at the 4, Sochan won't be starting. That's a bench player for the foreseeable future.
Thank you, David Aldridge, for being the NBA commentator who finally says it: “Are you out of your minds, Heat Nation? No, Tyler Herro and three first-round picks is not a good deal for Portland for, arguably, the best player in that franchise’s history. Not. I love how fans — and, not a few general managers — argue with a straight face that my team’s third- or fourth-best player with some filler should, somehow, be enough for you to give up your team’s best player. Like, I’ll trade you my ’09 Camaro with shot brakes and three bald spares to you for your ’22 Benz with 253 miles on it. What? Sounds fair!”
yeah right...and of course he won't have any trouble defending starting NBA 'PF's' like Giannis, Tatum, Jimmy Butler, Siakam, Aaron Gordon, Harrison Barnes, Lebron, Draymond, Kawhi, Zion, Josh Giddy, Doncic....geeeezuzzz, this isn't the 90's anymore. The NBA has evolved a ton. And I saw Wemby in summer league. The guy is not laterally quick on defense...at all. If he's a full-time PF he's going to lead the league in reaching fouls as his man streaks by toward the hoop
No, some of the Heat fans are posturing that position. Pat Riley and Eric Spoelstra are well aware that the guy who put up the best numbers of his career last season before the Blazers pulled the plug and fired up the tank, is still a well-maintained Ferrari and the Heat’s only chance at another deep playoff run before they begin their own inevitable rebuild in a few seasons.
Did @hoopsjock find some new notes from the blazer front office leaker in the bowels of a dairy queen being remodeled last night?
It's crazy so much assumption that Miami was the heavy favorite for Dame and then in minutes all 3 of Shams/Woj/Haynes shoot it down that they havent talked since summer league. LMAO at Heat nation right now. I so hope we get a nice Dame return from a different team and they can enjoy Tyler Herro starting at PG opening night.
Damn Pat, offer the max and get this over with. Jovic, Jaquez, Lowry, Martin, 1sts in ‘24, ‘28, ‘30, unprotected swaps in ‘27, ‘29.
There's been rumblings in Phoenix about them wanting McConnell. Indy jumping in as a landing spot for Herro could be interesting. Hield to Miami with Dame. Phoenix gets Nurkic+McConnell+Martin for Ayton Portland gets Ayton+MIA assets and maybe a 2024 1st from IND (they have the least favorable of four seperate teams). MIA gives up Herro, Martin, Lowry, Jovic, and two 1sts for Dame AND Hield (great fit for them, replaces the Strus role is a better shooter).
