Blazers file a grievance?

This guy catching up on the league memo from 87 internet years ago?

 

If true, trade prospects must not be going well...

 

Who is this and why should anyone believe them?

 

The Blazers should file a grievance against Shams at this point from the Toradol to the Goodwin only Miami bullshit Shams has been full of shit all off season.

 

When you google it and the only relevant results are the tweet and this thread, you know it’s likely BS.

 

The first sign you know it's not a reputable source is leading with an opinion. Second sign is the emojis. No reputable reporter with sources would disparage a team and then be that unprofessional about it.

To be fair, some of it has been better than the talking heads and much of the media. Granted, that is a low bar to hurdle.

"On Sept. 23, a Zoom meeting was organized by the NBA featuring league officials, Cronin, a team attorney, Lillard, Goodwin, and Ron Klempner, the general counsel for the National Basketball Players Association. The meeting was scheduled with the purpose of opening up the lines of communication between the Trail Blazers and Lillard's camp. The session got volatile at certain junctures, with both sides expressing their trust issues with the other."

I would really like to know what the grievance was.

This is around the time that Shams and other reporters were saying that if Dame was sent to Toronto, he would make it ugly. To me, this would indicate that Goodwin had been working behind the scenes trying to kill a Toronto deal and the Blazers went to the league about it.

 

We talked about this a bit on the latest 'podcast'. Goodwin just seems like a real piece of work and it's not a surprise so many players have left him.

He is down to very few clients.

 

I suppose this was after Goodwin and Lillard promised that he would play anywhere.

 

Basically. Here was the body of the memo:

"Recent media reports stated that Damian Lillard’s agent, Aaron Goodwin, called multiple NBA teams to warn them against trading for Lillard because Lillard’s only desired trade destination is Miami. Goodwin also made public comments indicating that Lillard would not fully perform the services called for under his player contract if traded to another team. We interviewed Goodwin and Lillard and also spoke with several NBA teams to whom Goodwin spoke. Goodwin denied stating or indicating to any team that Lillard would refuse to play for them. Goodwin and Lillard affirmed to us that Lillard would fully perform the services called for under his player contract in any trade scenario. The relevant teams provided descriptions of their communications with Goodwin that were mostly, though not entirely, consistent with Goodwin’s statements to us. We have advised Goodwin and Lillard that any future comments, made privately to teams or publicly, suggesting Lillard will not fully perform the services called for under his player contract in the event of a trade will subject Lillard to discipline by the NBA. We also have advised the Players Association that any similar comments by players or their agents will be subject to discipline going forward."

I'm going to guess the Blazers called the league after some comments were made by Shams and other reporters that Dame would make it ugly if he went to Toronto.
