Everytime i see this thread title, all i visualize is a dog scooting across a carpet floor trying to scratch its ass.. Wierd thing is, he looks alot like Sly!
A video to cut through all the doom and gloom going on: 3:10 on conversations with Scoot and what he’s looking forward to: “Just building that chemistry, that brotherhood that Portland tries to emphasize. I think it’s going to be fun to play and to watch.” Love hearing this. I’m betting that one year under Dame did a lot for his development. There were still probably stories of CJ and his relationship with Dame still going around the facility. Countless stories of Dame mentoring Simons (an unknown like him) up until this point. Chemistry matters. Dame also had no problem letting one of his guys do their thing when they’re hot. Shae sounds like he knows there’s going to be stretches when Scoot is rolling and he’s willing to kick back and enjoy the show. All talk at this point, but I only found words of encouragement in this video.
Sharpe and Scoot are quite a combo. One is shy (but not on camera) the other at home with the spotlight.
I don’t expect them to be buddy-buddy, but man it’s hard after seeing the Dame/CJ relationship all these years in Portland to not hope Scoot and Sharpe develop that Steph and Klay relationship. If Shae and Scoot are on that brotherhood wavelength where they truly want to succeed together and stay together, I can see this backcourt taking over the league.
That was a pretty good interview by that kid. He should replace Shaq on TNT. Over time Shae will naturally get bigger, but it wouldn't hurt if he spent some time in the weight room with Scoot.
...need more history on this name thing this is the first I've ever seen "Scoota" rather than "Scoot" -- when did he drop the 'a' and why?
A poster in a different thread called him Scoota, so I’m curious if he goes by that since I’ve seen a few cards that have Scoota on them.
