It was his draft outfit that made him a "no-go" guy to me.

Who is an undersized SG who'd fit very nicely next to Jrue. (Side note: how long ago was it that Philly traded Jrue for Nerlens Noel?)

The only problem we may have created is that Milwaukee is going to be so good for the next few years, teams in the East may just decide to plan for the future rather than compete now.

And on that note, what was Phoenix thinking when they facilitated this deal? Milwaukee now has a better core than they do.

I think you flip him to Miami who now needs a point guard and wants to keep up with Milwaukee.

Take Miami's shitty deal, which wasn't great for Dame but seems reasonable for Jrue.

    Jrue for Lowry/Jovic/Jaquez/2 FRP

I bet the Boston Celtics would be very happy to get Jrue.

Miami would be a defensive BEAST if they got Jrue.

speaking strictly for roster, I'd much much rather have JRue than Ant. Jrue is the far superior player and would be a very good mentor for Scott & Sharpe

as far as collecting future assets, Jrue definitely has better value than Ant because teams value defense unless their GM is Olshey

ideally, Portland trades Jrue for a young player and draft pick(s). At the same time they dump Ant

Can't lie, that disappoints me a little. I would like to see Jrue in a Blazers jersey - he's one of my fave players and would be our best defensive guard... ever?

I love Dame but I think people may be underrating what the Bucks gave up

if you go by Winshares, Jrue & Grayson last year combined for 11.8 winshares. In Dame's best season he had 12.6 winshares. He had 9.0 last year. And Jrue gave the Bucks an elite defender at the normal point of attack

now I do think Dame and Giannis can develop pretty spectacular synergy, but that's not certain and it will take some time

Then we'd have to find a home for Brogdon. Maybe Miami could use HIM?

I had that thought but Jrue's too old for Brooklyn.

interesting idea and without looking at it I'd guess it's salary-neutral

There is just no way the Blazers did this deal without at least somewhat knowing what Holiday's value is around the league. There is a baseline that they were comfortable with and now it's going to be a separate job to see whether Joe can increase that baseline by soliciting other offers.
