Dame was gone. Not returning. Miami is offering shit players that don’t fit our needs. We got a quality big, dumped an UNquality big and 2 players that never came close to making an impact. Rip that bandaid off and move forward. Love Dame on and off the floor, but we just weren’t going to get the hail most on here expected. Compare this to what we got for a prime LaMarcus.
I’m good with this. Done before camp, @THE HCP is content FAMS.

And yes, I am part of the future considerations heading to Milwaukee to join Patty, Terry and Dame.

I think he is 33, a month older than Lillard and getting paid a lot less.

    From what I can tell;

Blazers saved 1.1 million (sent out 71.5M received 70.4M)
Blazers opened one roster spot (sent out 4 players received 3)

Not sure on trade exceptions, maybe the Blazers can get one for Nurks salary? Probably ultimately doesn't matter as I doubt Blazers will pay tax this year or next.

So I think we now have 2 roster spots we must fill? Although perhaps one or both get used in Jrue trade.

It wasn't like Olshey can be criticized for it when Giannis lasted until the 15th pick.

But Olshey certainly should have / could have picked Steven Adams, who went 2 picks later. I really wanted Adams. Lopez was the weak link of that roster.

Jrue did a great job but it wasn't just him. Dame got constantly trapped at the 3pt line. On the rare occasion he could beat it, he had AD waiting for him at the rim. That team was essentially Dame's kryptonite.

If you need a championship-winning PG who plays defense, he's better.
Not every team needs a small scorer who doesn't play defense.

Camara looks as if he can do a lot of different things on offense.

Overall really like this deal. Probably have to grade it a B as it not the massive haul many of us hoped might come if Lillard was dealt. But the Blazers just wanted to move on to the new era and this allows it before camp. Still have a very nice asset in Jrue to flip for something else which should bring much more than Herro/LaVine/etc.

For the situation Cronin was in, pressure from the best Blazer ever demanding 1 team, Riley playing hardball with most national media supporting him, I might consider giving an A.

I REALLY like owning 3 years of unprotected Bucks picks. Hopefully they have a ton of pressure to win the next 4 years and mortgage all the rest of their future. We could be talking about the Blazers getting 3 straight top5 picks from Milwaukee, similar to how the Celtics got Tatum and Brown.

I LOVE how this screws Miami. Is there any way Cronin/Jody were so pissed at the Heat they said "What team can we send Dame to that most FUCKS the HEAT?" I can't see anything hurting them more than this.

I guess it kind of depends on what a team has to complement him with. Did Milwaukee feel like they needed a pure scorer?

This is a fallacy that has been propagated for too long. The Pelicans locked Dame down with the best traps we'd seen against him to that point. When not trapping Jrue did play some of the best one on one defense that anyone has played on Dame but Jrue didn't absolutely lock Dame down by himself... that's just a silly legend.

I think the funniest thing that could happen is that we trade Jrue to the Celtics, as the Celtics and the Bucks are 2 of the Heat's biggest rivals.

I agree. I am a huge Jrue fan. He has killed us for a decade. Same age as Dame and I remember the debate on this board about which one was better between the two. Now I did argue that Dame was better but the bottom line is Jrue probably fills just as big of a need for "certain" teams as Dame does.

Jrue is not nothing. He is better than Herro, OG, etc.

That’s interesting with Sharpe at SF but I think we trade him.
