but where did they get it? I am pretty skeptical of numbers that didn't come from the combine. 6'9 would put him and inch more than Dame and 1/4 inch less than Ant. Nothing really extraordinary and in the case of those two it sure didn't enhance their defense. I guess it doesn't matter as I think wingspan is seriously overrated, especially for perimeter players

The way that I read the actual quote from Shams was that the Heat were sending 2 1st rd picks and a 3rd would come with Herro going to a 3rd team. That headline seems inaccurate from the jump. Even with, the Blazers needed Grayson Allen to get Ayton. Were the Heat willing to include Caleb Martin for the Blazers to get Ayton? Doesn't seem so. Oh, and they'd get the treat of paying Duncan Robinson's terrible contract for 3 more years as well.

The "were willing" is doing a lot of work here in this quote? No evidence they made a serious offer and assumed that's Dame's agent was leverage enough.
