I don't see Bordgon's value as high at all given all his injury issues. Horford is on his last leg. Pritchard is a 3rd stringer. So the Nets giving up two rotation guys, a young prospect, and a future pick for that seems like a ton. Maybe Nets fans would feel different. I'd think the Nets would want a pick in return instead of giving up one, at the very least.
The GS pick could be good. I could see Golden State having injuries and sucking. They have done it before. I just wonder what kind of value Brogdon has. Could he be flipped to a team like Brooklyn or Orlando or another team that needs a guard?
Dinwiddie and DFS are filler. If there are better options for filler, so be it. We don't care. Same with Horford and Pritchard. Dinwiddie is an expiring though.
FVV's first season was 2016-17, Jrue's was 2009-10. So there is reason to believe that FVV has more tread left on the tires. I think Jrue will either opt in or take an extension... I don't think teams will see him as a flight risk.
Position of need with size for that position (listed as 6'8"), he's 20 years soon to be 21 on October 6th, 37% 3-point shooter. Check out his True Shooting %. Yes, it might be inflated by playing in Golden State, but Scoot may help inflate role (and roll) players' numbers too. Also, Kuminga is cheap for 2 seasons and is on a rookie contract. He's not a flight risk like Anunoby.
OKC draft capital: - 2024: Houston (top 4 prot) - 2024: Utah (top 10 prot) - 2024: Clips (unprotected) - 2025: own - 2025: MIA (top 14 prot) - 2025: PHI (top 6 prot) - 2026: own - 2026: Clips (unprotected) - 2027: own - 2027: DEN (top 5 prot) Good Lord. Can we get our hands on some of these???
If we're looking to get back another good young prospect, perhaps Houston would be a destination for Jrue? I'm thinking Tari Eason plus a pick. Or Cam Whitmore if we'd have interest.
Kevin Porter Jr (gets waived), Tate, and Tari Eason plus picks works for Jrue. Tate can get waived too if we'd like. Would love to add a young, hard-nosed defender like Eason.
Has to be the team we engage. At a certain point, stockpiling these many picks results in dimishing returns. And they're ripe for an improvement. Moving 2 or 3 of those wouldn't even affect any of their core assets.
As a Blazer fan, if the Nets want to take on a bad deal, I don't care. I'm just trying to look at the trade through the Nets eyes and understand why they would even consider it.
Call me crazy, but now that Dame has been traded, I would love to get the two unprotected picks from Miami along with Lowery and either of the two young guys. Miami will not be good in five years. I have no problem trading Jrue there. Would Miami offer that though? I doubt it.
