I don't believe that was ever the actual offer * it's easy to say "Herro to a 3rd team for a first". I think it's a lot harder to find that 3rd team and in fact, I don't think any 3rd team was found * 2 swaps? 2027? There's next to zero value for that to Portland since Chicago owns that pick unless it's in the lottery * that leave 2 firsts and a swap. I am 100% convinced that Riley was not offering all three unprotected. Blazers got 2028-2030 Milwaukee firsts unprotected * Jovic and what else? Lowry ain't enough. I'm about 90% convinced that Miami's offer always forced Portland to take back Robinson if I'm right...that's a shit deal...an insulting offer, and Cronin was right to essentially tell Riley to go pound south beach sand
Strange that report also came out after the fact to save face. Before that, they were "daring" us to find a better deal than Herro and two 1sts.
If we can't do better I would not mind that for Jrue. Precious fills a need at PF and Gradey fills a need at SF since we lost Nas. Throw in Boucher and a first and we are good to go. I would try to move Trent.
Not sure if that deal is there for Jrue. Not sure if we even want to mess around with Ujiri at this point.
Well if Ujiri calls I would pick up the phone. Let him make his offer. They at least have assets we could use. I would still take Jovic and Jaime as well from Miami Hopefully, a dark horse appears with an ending contract and 2-3 picks
I'll take that for Jrue. Precious starts day one. Dick is a prospect that could be good. A pick would be nice.
Ujiri letting OG leave for nothing when they could have had #7, Ant, the 3 1sts from MEM, etc the last two years...this has got to be a fire-able offense right?
I sensed Masai was up to his usual and not making Barnes or OG available when nothing happened after all the Toronto rumors late last week. It seems was a true case of if we hear about the deal before its done, it's already dead. I did sense that Phoenix was committed to moving Ayton for Nurkic regardless of the Dame deal going down. There was just too much local talk here for that to be dead.
Ujiri really is that guy in your fantasy league who drafts his players and then is so frightened of ever making a legit offer and seeing one of the guys he drafted and then traded do well that he spends the whole season offer crazy lopsided deals and refusing to actually negotiate.
