Good Point. Yeah, he won't opt out next summer. However, that also might help us get more assets back from teams who know they would have him for two years while he is 33 and 34.

Sure, that's fine. He'll be traded when a good trade is available. No rush.

I think he isn’t even around long enough to report to camp.

There should be enough demand for Jrue that trading him by training camp for great value is the expected outcome

I think it's more valuable to send him out now and essentially make it another aspect of the Lillard trade. I think with teams scrambling to answer the Bucks, the value might be higher now than it would be later, too.

The Blazers will find a veteran mentor for the young guards. It just won't be Jrue.

Id prefer keeping Jrue til the deadline.. Thats when they can extract the most for him I think.. I think this team/coach should be given a chance to sink or swim before u pull the rug out and Jrue gets traded..

Cuz on a roster as young and talented as this.. Winning is gonna pay dividends.. Jrue is exremely good defensively and he's sort of able to guard PG's and SG's and he brings a lot to the table.. the idea Jrue doesnt even deserve a chance to play seems like a major rush to judgement..

That being said, Chauncey was a better version of Jrue Holliday. He's already on the payroll and has zero trade value. Why can't Chauncey be Scoot's mentor?

From a strategic standpoint, Jrue's value is at its maximum right now, before the reality of Dame in Milwaukee is set. Right now, it's theoretical and there's a bidding war for his services. Start the season, and someone may surprise, showing they upped their defense.

We need to trade Jrue by the weekend.

All depends on what the offers are. It's possible that it could be worth waiting until after December 15th because a lot of players become available at that point.

With that said, I think Dame going to Milwaukee has created a bit of a frenzy, so I think he has a lot of value right now. He's the only All-Star on the market, aside from Harden.

If an All-Star can be underrated, Jrue is. If we kept him, we might be a play-in team, probably not, but he's sneaky good. I think the Bucks will miss his point of attack D and solid offense. He'd also be a good mentor for Scoot...

That being said, we should probably just let Scoot figure things out and get what we can for Jrue.

There seems to be a consensus that Jrue will bring in a haul right now. But I am guessing that there isn't a consensus on what we all consider a haul.

For example, the Chicago scenario seems fair if we get our pick back and they add another FRP along with Williams and filler. Is that a haul?

Last year there was a rebuild GM/President/Consultant available that had ties to the Blazers and Oregon available, if that was the route the Blazers wanted to go they should have reached out to Ainge. No idea if they did or didn't but Jody's pockets are deeper than the Jazz owners.

It could be Lowry. It could be Batum. It could be a combination of Brogdon and maybe Horford.

There’s plenty of ‘mentors’ we can have on the team. No ‘mentor’ is going to get us a star level deal.

I would really like them to find a great deal soon and have all of this over with. That being said I can also see that maybe around the deadline there might be an offer that could be a better spot for both Jrue (who i also feel deserves some respect) and the Blazers.

I would like him to do some trick-or-treating on Halloween wearing a Dame mask.

Presumably he's got a lot on his plate, and the relationship between coach and player is different than between player and player. Further, if Scoot can be influenced positively by both, that would seem to be better than just one.

That's not reason enough to keep Holiday, but it's definitely a positive in my book.

For Dame I was willing to wait til deadline in no good offers were available.

For Jrue, he is just as in-demand as any player now, literally the best player no one ever thought would be available just became available. At least half the league crave him so an auction must end by Monday

I don’t find value in bringing him to camp. Why risk any type of injury for one.

    Trade Holiday to the Celtics:

    Williams gets us a big-bodied PF/C
Pritchard brings us a back-up PG
And add an unrestricted number one pick and I see the above as a haul for Jrue.

If our young trio of Sharpe, Scoot and Ant play above expectations, we could make the playoffs. Team chemistry is 80% of a roster’s success and if Scoot takes off and plays mistake-free ball, we can win 45 games.
