the Celtics are so capped out, I don't know how they could pony up enough to acquire Holiday.

They also don’t have any young players.

Yes, fit is important. You need guys on the floor that fit together. But we don't even know who those guys will be on the 2nd unit. And you still have to be able to score.

Blazers get 3 1sts and 2 young players. Olynyk and Horton are fillers to make salary work. But Kelly will be a decent rotation player.

Heat get their man in Jrue Holiday. Jazz cash in a couple of picks for Herro.

It would be kind of fun to keep Holiday a while and watch him shut down Dame everytime we play the Bucks

I don't see them giving up Martin in this deal. I think they'd rather send out Jovic and another pick.

Jrue has never shut down Dame by himself. He's always had significant help like Ray Allen, Rajon Rondo, AD, Giannis....With Dame on the floor alongside Giannis, Middleton, Lopez, Portis...teams won't be able to double and trap Dame

I'm not saying that Jrue isn't a good defender, just that stopping Dame without help would be difficult for Jrue

this thread is so funny, so many salty heat fans that are convinced we got back nothing of value for Dame just to spite Miami

I'll take Jaylen Brown. That helps them next season.

In all seriousness, the Heat fans on social media/forums/press, make the Lakers' fans look like geniuses. I have never read so many comments by those who cannot see anything beyond their own perspective. Truly shocking. The fact of the matter is the Heat will be in rebuild mode shortly. Butler cannot lead a team to a ring. Period. Nor can Bam.

That is a very good point that I don't think has been made yet.
You are going to get very different results from a young player that is allowed to play 36 minutes and take all the shots they want versus a player who is on a win-now team that has won championships.
This point has been made in discussion by Golden State fans about Franz Wagner (whom they passed on) and Kuminga.
If you look at rookie of the year Paolo Banchero he was definitely high-volume and low efficiency.
How would Kuminga have looked if he had been allowed to start since he was a rookie and play a lot of minutes?
How would Wagner have looked on the Warriors?
