My biggest concern is that I think we have GOT to start Sharpe. I worry that Billups will have him as a 6th man. I am assuming Brogdon is gone in my calculus here, but I really don't want to see Sharpe off the Bench, I want him next to Scoot in the backcourt and I don't see that happening as long as we have Simons. The one reason I'm OK with starting Simons (who is certainly better as a player right now than Sharpe) is because I want to see his trade capital go sky high before we trade him and perhaps Timelord/Grant for our SF/PF of the future (I'd also accept 2 FRPs).

You don't see Sharpe as our 5th best player next year?!?! WOW! Prepare to be pleasantly surprised!

I guess it depends how you define that "#1". PPG as well as scoring 1v1 yes I think he has that. Scoot has a leadership ability, an "it" factor, and command of the offense on the court. Can argue endlessly about which is more crucial to wins or a title.

Dude is 20, he will be fine as a 6th man in an OKC Harden role next year. Might actually be better for his development than starting and being the 4th offensive option.

Yeah that's true, I'm just super ready to move on from Simons (assuming a good return obviously) and have Sharpe as our SG. I like Simons, but Sharpe's potential is limitless and we need to harness it.

I respect Ant's game and I also prefer starting Sharpe. But I expect Chauncey to start Scoot at PG and Ant at SG with Shae backing up SG, because of seniority and Shaedon is not better than Ant yet.

    Scoot, Ant
    Sharpe, Tisse
    Grant, Knox
    Murray, Walker
    Ayton, Timelord

We need PF but I like our team

I see us with this rotation, it's not what I want, but it's what I expect and it likely is better to boost Ant's trade value, and also to bring Sharpe along against lesser bench talent where he will dominate and get plenty of shots.

    Scoot -Ant
    Ant - Sharpe
    Thybulle - Sharpe
    Grant - Murray - Walker
    Ayton - Timelord

That's actually a totally decent lineup, I could see us barely making the play-in. I can't wait to see what we get from Brogdon!

If we kept Brogdon and had a starting lineup of Brogdon, Ant, Jerami, Williams and Ayton it would be a bit like the Iverson finals team, with Ant playing a low-rent Iverson. Everybody else plays defense and leaves the scoring to him.

If we're keeping all three I'd much prefer starting Scoot/Sharpe and using Ant like a super-sub backing both of them up. Makes way more sense than Sharpe coming off the bench. Plenty of minutes for all three and who ends the game is another matter.

Rebounding will be an issue with that starting group

Well yeah, I guess Ants the only Blazer with two years of tenure, which is just way too much.

Think that's a bigger indictment of what's around him than anything about Shaedon's ability.

Sharpe needs to earn the starting spot. If he outplays, or out defends Ant then sure make the change. Nobody should be given anything.

I'm a bit more tempered until shae and scoot run together and build the chemistry.

Wait and see mode. And thats okay.

Agreed. Based off how he looked in Summer League, Sharpe still has a LONG ways to go before he’s even on Ant’s level.

Yup. Gotta start all three. See how it meshes. If not, you're playing Simons into higher trade value and not rolling back the responsibility that brought Sharpe much growth last year.

Sure, but we aren't trying to win even though I also somewhat paradoxically think there's enough talent to potentially get the #10 seed in the West. I also think more trades are coming, at least one and as many as 3.

I don't mind starting Sharpe at SF, but Sharpe's Trimuph had a great point about him having more of a Green Light off the bench. I want him to feel free to go right at the defense any time he wants.

Unless Sharpe and/or Scoot turn out to be busts they are the future at PG and SG. I think we know what Simons is. A talented scorer, but not complete enough to want to hang your franchise on.

I hope he elevates his stock, and we trade him for a forward.

One difference, though, in that Brogdon, Grant and Ayton all are capable scorers and decent-to-high FG% guys.

Someone I think mentioned Scoot having a lot of FGAs. I don't think that will happen. Scoot can get his own shot most of the time, but I think he views his position as a creator. If he has guys around him who can make baskets, he's going to look to get them the ball as a priority. I think he views his role as a CP3,/Jason Kidd/John Stockton, or, if you prefer, Russell Westbrook with a conscience ... a pass-first Brodie. He's got plenty of guys to feed on this roster and guys he can lob to.
