This is the most excited I have been about this team since we traded for Scottie

My perfect squad by position

PG- creates and makes the game easier for teammates but can also hit clutch shot when needed

SG- creates own shot at will inside or out and yet still able to get teammates involved

SF- high energy player creates turnovers, gets offensive rebounds and supplies energy and extra possessions

PF- tireless rebounder, enforcer on defense, able to switch on defense when involved in pick and roll.

Center- rim protector, able to go through him at end of games when you need a good shot

feel like I’m describing the 90’s Blazer team lol

 

And yet they lost their one playoff series to Houston when they had the home court...

Props for choosing to post something negative in a thread about being excited about the team. Really had to dig for it.

 

This is the most apathetic I’ve been in a while.

Actually, I wouldn’t say apathetic just “here we go again”.

I really don’t know what to expect other than the fact I’m pretty sure we will be bad, probably really bad.

No star. No superstar.

And a *lot* of unknowns.

And our current “best” player, Simons, is… not my cup of tea.

I will say, I’m glad we finally picked a direction rather than saying one thing and doing another.

 

You do you, man… but I don’t see how you can think “here we go again” when we have no clue how this team is going to perform. Most of the team is brand new. There’s no “again.” This is a fresh start.

Phoenix wanted to be rid of Ayton even more than we wanted to move on from Nurk. We'll see who's right.

 

Unengaged ayton was 18 and 10 last year, he was also pretty dominant when he was engaged when they went to the finals.

I don't think Nurk is anywhere near that after his injury even if he is engaged, but good luck to him.

 

I do have a pretty good idea of how we are going to perform. I feel like most people have a pretty good idea of how we will perform. Our Vegas odds aren’t great for a reason.

We’re going to suck.

A lot of youth. A lot of new faces that haven’t played together. No star. No superstar. How often does that combo turn into a lot of wins?

And “it’s again” because we’ve not-so-quietly tanked the last 2 seasons, at least we know what it is from the start.

Depending on how Scoot and Shaedon turn out, I may start getting excited in about 2 years or so.

And legitimate excitement? Comparable to Roy, Oden LMA means we need Scoot AND Shaedon to be all-stars AND then we somehow get the #1 pick in a “Wemby” year which is how Oden was (rightly or wrongly) viewed.

We are far, far away from that.

This reminds me of 2015-16 season. Everyone thought we’d suck but we got the 5 seed and won a round.

Most excited I've been in years. Just nice to have something different...yet with lots of upside. Definitely the most stacked young roster we've had since Oden was drafted. Just a case of seeing if they can put it together better than that team, and stay healthy.
