There are many storylines this year, which is one of the reasons why it's so compelling. Scoot's power game is very old-school. How will it translate to the 3-point shooting modern nba. When will his 3-pointer improve? Does it need to? Ja Morant's game is certainly not centered around it. Will Scoot win ROY? Sharpe actually jumps higher than Jordan ever did. But, MJ honed his ballhandling over the years. Will Sharpe follow through, or remain "raw". With the addition of Scoot and Ayton, and Ant likely starting in Sharpe's best position, will he get lost in the shuffle? We will have 4 high-level starters, imho. What will happen at SF? Thybulle will likely do yeoman's work, but a champtionship team would have him coming off the bench. Will we trade for one, or will one of the current player blossom there? Sharpe at the 3 seems to continue a trend blazer fans would like to see end - a small team bad at defense. Will Ant ever learn to play competent defense? He doesn't have to even be average, but by all accounts, he's been horrible at that end. Will Scoot turn Ayton into a player who garners all-star consideration? Will he ever stop saying DominAyton? Will the team crack top 20 in defense? How about top 15 in offense? Those are the benchmarks I'm looking at, even more that record. Will we make the playin? Will there be moves at the deadline? Will GS's pick turn into a lotto pick for us? ...
So this thread will be where everybody puts their thoughts into instead of creating another fucking thread about random thoughts. I’m all for it FAMS!

wow...you ask a lot of questions! * Will Scoot win ROY? the current odds: It wiil be Wemby's if he stays healthy and plays well most of the season. Scoot has a chance though. I'm surprised to see Holmgren listed as I didn't think he is eligible. He could be a real darkhorse ************************************************************ * Will Sharpe follow through, or remain "raw". With the addition of Scoot and Ayton, and Ant likely starting in Sharpe's best position, will he get lost in the shuffle? that's a distinct possibility, especially if Sharpe is inconsistent and struggles when the season begins. It will depend on Chauncey, and to a lesser extent on Cronin's vision. Does Cronin really see Ant as the long-term starter at SG? ************************************************************* * Will Ant ever learn to play competent defense? Does a bear shit in the ocean? ************************************************************** * Will Scoot turn Ayton into a player who garners all-star consideration? that would likely be giving both players a little too much credit, at least in the short-term. Longer term? Stranger things have happened *************************************************************** * Will the team crack top 20 in defense? How about top 15 in offense? my hunch is neither will happen this season. I'd guess top-15 in offense is more likely than top-20 in defense ***************************************************************** Will we make the playin? Will there be moves at the deadline? no yes ******************************************************************** Will GS's pick turn into a lotto pick for us? pretty unlikely...but their age and injury history has them skating on thin ice these days
Blazers should bring in Jeff Hornacek. https://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/2014/12/trail_blazers_wesley_matthews_7.html
Chet is eligible the same way Blake Griffin was because he did not play his would-be rookie season, so this is effectively Chet's rookie campaign. I believe he will win Rookie of the Year and OKC makes the playoffs
IIRC, Greg Oden was not eligible for ROY votes in 2008-09, even though that was his first season. Maybe they changed that rule?
