I’m not convinced that he’s going to be a superstar or even an all star, but he needs more than six shots and I have concerns that he’s going to get frustrated watching the ISO crew Jack up contested shots.

Ayton is so mobile. Just use him on the move, as a cutter and trailer etc. Nobody's getting in his way. Limit post-ups to clear mismatches.

edit: and when there is a clear mismatch, throw him the damn ball, but do the passing right. Make it a hockey assist if necessary.
that was pretty bad watching Ayton standing in place with a stagnant offense trying to force the ball into him.

Does the current Trail Blazers coach recognize this as a possiblity?

The problem is that Chauncey is trying to keep Simons and Grant happy.

We're going to lose out on getting Spoelstra for this guy and I'm going to feel true sports rage for the first time in nearly a decade

That's why I'm not concerned. He's been efficient his entire career. As soon as he get acclimated, he should shoot at a higher clip

The very big positive news for me is that Scoot's problem was going to be scoring. So far, it's not a problem.

Scoot is 3 0f 7 on 3-pointers, 43%, and 11 of 20 overall shooting for the first two games.

I’m just not thrilled at all that Chauncey is trying to play Scoot off the ball. Might as well have kept Dame if we are gonna do that.

The starting unit (mostly) scored 40 points in the first quarter against Phoenix. That is a positive.
I'm sure Phoenix's coach wasn't happy about that.

Playing Scoot off the ball is shit.

The guy made some incredible finishes in traffic last night. And he can pass. Give him those options all night long.

Scoot will be deadly if he can get to the rack whenever there's an opening. That's what I'd be asking him to do now first option.

Yeah, we need more movement and more work at the basket with more inclusion of Ayton in the offense. More dammit!

I thought we were supposed to see less jacking up threes with this roster and more attacking the paint. More!

Didn't enjoy watching Simons Iso up top and the opponent defense just being allowed to camp around.

Just pretend Ayton is Mitchell Robinson.
That would be the simple way to explain it to Billups.

Didn't enjoy Sharpe missing so many 3-pointers. Did enjoy his highlight-reel worthy finishes. I want him to force Chauncey to move Ant to the bench, and not because Ant is sucking

Sharpe is young and so is the season. Actually it's not even the season yet.

I only saw the highlights, but Sharpe finishing in traffic through contact is a great thing for him. Get the handle on top of that - and he is Brandon Roy reincarnate.

I wish. He got a lot improving to do. B-Roy was bad-ass early in his career. Yes he was much older when he entered the league. But Shae has aesthetically pleasing fluidity in the way he moves and the hang time is just so graceful. Shae needs to improve his shooting which will come with more reps, but it's his dribbling, if be tigheten his handles, he deadly

i felt so bad for her. She was the only one who could see the e words and were probably wondering why the crowd was getting chuckly.
Man was that not the funniest thing though?

I busyed out laughing at mentally screaming and felt bad laughing but just couldn't stop.

but yes. Wth are the Blazers thinking? Like the words are predetermined and they cant just show the words regardless?

    They should be embarrassed.

Roy had great handles when he entered the league. Obviously he developed those handles over his 4 years in college. Sharpe doesn't have that path available, and with Scoot, Ant, and Brogdon ahead of him in the rotation, and the ball-handling hierarchy, he's not going to have much opportunity to develop his handles during games
