Question - I have Amazon Fire Stick on my TV. I see that VPN is available to download. If If I download it will it impact any of the other apps that I use on the TV like You tube etc.?

Blazer TV blackouts in the old days were annoying. We adapted, we had terrific radio announcers. Nowadays..
... what is a radio ?? That's that guy shouting as loud as possible with the hope someone out there will think every game is a Blazers championship game. Portland's radio announcer often goes hoarse after the 1st half due to excessive screaming. Holton should drop a valium in the radio guy's coffee.

The VPN will make you appear somewhere else. So you might start seeing local advertisements for the city you claim. If you have programs that require you to be on your home you claim, then it could negatively impact that. I think you're pretty safe without knowing you're exact list of streaming services.

I would just turn it on and off when you watching Blazers and when you aren't. You may have some apps that will ask you to change your home to your VPN. I wouldn't do that except in the NBA app.

Looks like a free trial of Fubo TV for Blazer fans and season ticket holders is coming soon.
    https://www.nba.com/blazers/watch

I switched from Comcast to Fubo TV about a year ago and love it.
The only bad part about Fubo TV is as of now, they dont have TNT & TBS which sucks for TNT NBA games and March Madness.

So I have not "cut the cord" yet and am paying a fortune for Comcast.

If I did, could I get Blazer games some other way? How?

    Thanks!

Looks like Fubo and DirecTV for like $75 per month are your "legit options" aside from Comcast.

    I'm just finding free streams.

I'm paying a fortune too, but I get TV, internet, and a land line. I've looked at alternatives. It's a little more complicated for me because I live a couple of miles outside of city limits and phone lines up here are useless for broadband

But what you can do is start with an unlimited data plan for internet. There are three tiers, all come with a free subscription to Peacock. The 1000Mbps plan is $75/month; the 1200Mbps plan is $85/month; and the super-duper 2000Mbps plan is $120/month. I have the 1000Mbps plan and it's been just fine for streaming Amazon Prime, Netflix, HBO Max. But maybe the 1200Mbps plan would be better if you're going 100% streaming. The 2000Mbps seems like overkill

so, say you're at a starting point of $85/month

here's where it starts to get tricky

Xfinity has a couple of basic TV packages. One gives you more than 125 channels (most are useless, but that's typical); that costs, with the hidden fees around $66/month. But it doesn't have Root. They do have their Ultimate package that has over 185 channels and that does include Root. That's about $85/month

that would put you at $170/month. But you would have to buy a Comcast compatible modem, or rent one from Comcast. And rent a TV box. So you'd probably be at $185/month

if you have the bundle, like I do, with a landline, you can take your phone service online with Comcast for $10/month. I'm not sure if you can keep your existing phone number or not. And it narrows the list of compatible modems

so, that puts you at $200/month and you get Blazer games and a wide variety of other sports channels as well as networks and cable shows. But any premium channels would be added subscriptions...and those can add up fast

the Fubo Elite package has more channels than Infinity Ultimate, although generally, that's just more channels you'll never watch. It's the same $85/month but that doesn't include taxes and 'fees' so it could be more. The Premier plan has a few more channels AND has Showtime. That's $95/month.

FUBO does come with cloud DVR. 1000 hours for most of the plans. The add-ons can add up. Showtime+Stars+MGM+ is $20/month

so you could delete the Comcast Ultimate, and add back the Fubo Elite with that premium add-on for an additional $20.

that would bump you up to $220/month

which is kind of why my $285/month existing bill doesn't seem that bad. I have the landline to start with and the same ph# we've had for 30 years. And, that includes HBO, HBO Max, Showtime, Epix, MGMP, IFC, TCM, and Paramount+

now, I know there are a lot more ways to skin the cat than what I know about, especially if you live in a city and have fiber optics options that I don't have

Direct TV can go thru an internet connection and they have several packages. Still the cost runs from $85-155 and that's before all the sneaky fees

DirectTV stream or Fubo. I recommend Direct TV. You will pay less than Commiecast no contract. You get Root,NBAtv, all the ESPNs, TNT and TBS so you will get to see all the Blazers games and more.

Fubo is the cheapest. Also no contract. No TNT among other channels.

from what I've seen the costs are pretty comparable between Comcast Ultimate, Fubo, and Direct TV

you still need to have a broadband connection with unlimited data. Comcast is $75/month. I'm not sure about alternatives for people in cities. I have none where I live
