No he isn't. He's not as good as some people unrealistically thought he would be immediately, but he isn't a bust
Henderson averaged 13/2/5 in preseason. those are rookie learning the NBA numbers. Give Scoot a couple months of real NBA action before drawing conclusions.
If you meant a Bust of Scoot in the HOF then your getting ahead of yourself. Let's wait till he plays at a HOF level after his first few years. Then you can clamp the positive to the right nipple and negative to the left. Crank this thread up!
Well I’ll be, I still have access. You’re taking heat in here and maybe you should be but I’ll be honest. I am underwhelmed. You can look at a player and tell if he has it or not. I’m thinking in the mold of a Johnny Flynn. A nice player but hardly a star. Will wait and see. Good luck with this.
Kid is 19. I’ll give it 3 years til I decide if he’s a “bust” or not in my opinion. Also, depends on what you expect him to do out there.
It's very rare for the Top PG prospect to be a bust. Today's league is simply catered towards point guards. Around 14 out of 17 top Point Guard prospects since the Chris Paul draft have turned out to be All-Stars, for reference. Now, it seems many Portland fans were hyping him up to be 'the next Magic Johnson' or touting that he would be 'the #1 pick in any other draft'. That may be where people are going to disappointed. Magic Johnson's talent is much rarer than Scoot and #1 picks are rarely ever the best player in a draft (meaning, he'll probably start off slow). Expecting Scoot to just come in and replace Lillard is simply not realistic. Otherwise, I think fans should just realistically expect De'Aaron Fox with slightly better passing and be happy if he becomes better than that (his potential suggesting a player of higher caliber).
Has not even played a real game yet and this place has a "Bust" thread on the kid? In what world do we label a Rookie PG a bust before he even plays the first year?
Bust is a bit far, more accurate to say that he won’t live up to the expectations for his rookie season many here have put upon him. Seems like a lot of people thought Scoot would come in and make Dame expendable. I don’t think we will feel that way after the end of the season, and I don’t think Scoots rookie season will match Dames rookie season.
Probably will age as well as any for sure. We will have to revisit it for years to come. Might even match the "This is the worst team I've ever seen" thread?
I imagine the OP is a big fan of Jon Lajoie... too early dude, way too early... https://genius.com/Jon-lajoie-too-fast-lyrics I am certain this thread will go down in infamy
KD was an inefficient chucker his first season and many on here and elsewhere were calling him a bust. Yeah.
