"Life comes at you fast." when asked about any history with current Trail Blazers: "You all call him Jerami. I know him as Mu - Mu. From DC."
"Are they watching your minutes? Is it full-go as far as you know?" "It's full-go as far as I know." Later... "Our job is fun. Is this even a job?" about the younger players: "I see coach cuss one of them out. They don't pout about it."
I'm ok with filling in end of bench spots on guys like that. Not everyone has to have some crazy upside you are waiting on, and needing development. Sometimes just having another adult in the room, and likely someone to give solid practice minutes type of guy. Someone who knows where they're supposed to be on the court so that if they do end up playing, it is able to elevate our super young guys, versus having an air head out there with them. Doubt he sees many minutes. Hopefully he doesn't. But seems like a better keeper than Knox.
Another great interview. A lot of likable characters on this team. Also loved that Chauncey is cussing the young players out.
It probably is because there are so many new players on this team, but it seems like they have a lot of wild cards that could affect how this season goes. I mean what happens if Williams and Ayton are able to give us 4th quarter minutes together? What happens if Ish is able to play SF minutes next to DA, Grant, and Brogdon? All of a sudden the team would actually have a lot of size and defensive potential. It will take a while to know which lineups actually can work. I am looking forward to the flexibility.
Feels like either all these wildcards are being discounted, or those players aren't as good (and I mean good, not great) as I think they are.
