As much as I don't think Ant is a championship guy at SG (maybe PG), I'm not willing to give him away. Not a good trade.

I don't see how getting an unprotected FRP and a lotto pick who has size, plays hard D (no pun intended) and is a lights out shooter is giving Ant away.

None of the players we get back mean much except for maybe Dick. Big maybe. I think Ant by himself is worth 3 picks, and we're throwing in Rob and Brogdon? Doesn't seem adequate.

Yeah, I think maybe my valuation on Ant is low. He definitely looked impressive in the preseason. I don't really know how Ant and Scoot ever truly work together as a back court especially if it forces Shaedon up a position as well. That being said if Ant can be a 25ppg scorer, do that efficiently and not be a defensive liability then yeah, he'd be worth a lot more than this trade would bring back for him.

That being said, we're not that far apart. You think Ant is worth three picks, I have him at a lotto picked rookie and an unprotected FRP which is two picks.

We don't have to worry about Ant and Scoot working long term as a backcourt right now; or anytime soon.

Worry when Scoot is a proven 25 year old great starter as when the Warriors broke up Steph and Ellis.

I mean sure if we get offers for more than Ant Sharpe or Scoot is worth we should consider it. Just very much doubt that will happen in the next year or two. So not worth discussing at this time IMO.

We need to update this thread with struggling teams that might give up a good haul for Brogdon. The price at which I would sell on Brogdon is 2 1sts, or a young player and a 1st.

Miami: not interested in their young guys. The 2 1sts become very valuable though, if Phili wins the bid for Mitchell and the Heat have to continue to catch up with the Joneses while Butler continues to age. I’d be fine with with Lowry, a ‘28 top 4 protected 1st that turns into an unprotected ‘29 pick swap and a ‘30 top 4 protected 1st that turns into an unprotected ‘31 pick swap for Brogdon and Thybulle. I LOVE that deal actually. Maybe re-sign Lowry to the BAE and keep him around as a vet.

Chicago: I’m not so sure if the Bulls are going to want to blow it up or continue to go all in. We could definitely get 2 1sts out of them between the amount of need the Bulls have for Brogdon AND the Ball contract. I’m not all that interested in their young guys. But taking on Ball for our 1st back, and trading Brogdon for a top 10 protected 1st in ‘28 that turns into an unprotected pick swap in ‘29 and an unprotected pick swap in ‘31.

There will be more teams interested eventually.

You don’t think Ant is going to benefit from all the attention Scoot and Shae gets? It’s actually awesome that Shae gets this opportunity to gain confidence in his offensive impact and get opportunities to improve his playmaking. As long as Ant can come back in and can contribute to the defense getting better, he’ll continue to be here. The PF prospect we find is going to be very important to anchoring the defense.

Judging from last night, Memphis would be happy to trade Marcus Smart (Celtics starter) for Brogdon (Celtics bench) but we'd be fools to do it.

I'm just so completely sick and tired of undersized back courts. I don't want to deal with it any more. That doesn't mean I want to give Ant away, it just means I want him traded for fair value that is either draft capital or a better fitting young player.

I don't think it's good to replace two of our shooters with someone that can't shoot.

Granted (no pun intended), but if you have Simmons you can play him at a forward spot while you start shooters Ant and Shaedon at guard. (Where's Scoot? In the practice facility, working on his jump shot.)

I mean I agree with you. I’d love to get a blue chip forward prospect AND a pretty good 1st for Ant. But until then, we’re left having to stay optimistic that Ant will up his value.

The day will come where Ant will bring us something of value. It will be when we are closer to contending. This isn’t that time though.

I would easily take either of those to things for Ant... a pretty good first or a blue chip forward.

We shouldn’t HAVE to trade Simons. He’s a perfect third guard. We can still get him 30+ minutes a night. We just have to sell him on coming off the bench.

If Chauncey has the guts to tell Ant to be Manu, and Ant is willing, there aren't many 6th man better

Not both? My asking price would be both, not either/or.
