We also just had him sitting on the three point line watching the show. Every once in a while he'd sneak in a putback dunk or a lob.

He’d benefit if he came off the bench for the first half of the season.

    No shame playing behind Brogdon.

Scoot can use some screens then used that nice floater of his. Not sure why he’s so scared of attacking the paint.

    Wemby tonight:

    11 points, shooting 4-10, missed both three-point attempts, 2 assists, 5 turnovers.

    Enough everyone.

I always found it a bit prematurely optimistic to anoint Scoot before he even played. That's why the Dame for Scoot pivot didn't excite me. He was unknown. My fear was always centered on the downside of rolling the dice.

I'm not stoked with what we've seen so far, but at this point, what is there to do but cheer the kid on like crazy and hope he becomes something huge?
This could absolutely be nerves. It could be coaching. It could be horrible luck. Gotta just cross our fingers that it's temporary.

Hoping his mental resilience is off the charts high. That's the real trait I'm looking for at this point.

If we're tryin to win, yeah. For development, throw him into the fire. It will accelerate his growth

Devils advocate, but Wemby has shown plenty of flashes of why he was #1. I think people would be a lot more reasonable if Scoot was giving us some flashes of greatness to go with all the rookie mistakes. But he has pretty much been god awful in all three regular season games.

For those of you who said that Scoot's speed had been exaggerated and that he wasn't fast like Wall or Rose. I hope you were watching the two plays he scored on today. Everyone else on the floor looked like they were standing still. This dude is fast fast fast. Now he doesn't know how to use that speed yet but I think he will learn.

For those of you trying to compare what Shaedon was doing last season to what we're seeing from Scoot, I want to again say that Shaedon got the ball when he was left all alone either in the corner or cutting to the hoop, where he was found by legitimate NBA teammates. Scoot is being asked to run an NBA offense at the beginning of every game and only gets a few minutes a game to try and be as invisible as what allowed Shae to do what he did until the very end of last season.

Let's give Scoot some time. He's lightning fast, he has a nice handle, he has really good court vision, has a great attitude and is a Westbrook level monster of a PG physically.

Which is what he does. Or at least he used to. That has been his game.
He also made some terrific passes in summer league when it looked like he had no where to go, surrounded by defenders.

79 more chances to go, though I now think he shouldn't be starting until he gives us a few good performances in more controlled matchups.

Sharpe didn't look as lost; he had 9 double-digit scoring games in his first 15. Of course, he wasn't carrying the same burden Scoot is supposed to be carrying

I agree it's way early....as in several months and 50-60 games too early...to be reaching any conclusions

but it's the reality that after 3 games, Scoot is 10-30 on FG's (33%); 1-12 on three's (8.3%); and has 9 assists vs 13 turnovers. He's also been bad defensively and has 12 PF's in the 3 games. He's really struggling so far

Shaedon could shoot threes. Scoot cannot.

Shae also had Dame. Scoot does not.

that doesn't make much sense to me. Are you saying that if Scoot was playing with Dame he'd be playing better? even though both are PG's? like Brogdon and Scoot are?

as for Scoot's perimeter shooting...yes, that was the biggest concern before the draft. It looked like it could be a real flaw that would limit Scoot's impact. A PG doesn't have to be a deadly 3 point shooter, but he needs to at least be a threat so defenders won't sag way off him and take away driving and passing lanes. That's what is happening to Scoot

I think if Dame was still here, Scoot would be coming off the bench and the expectations would be much less. I also think that Dame would have opened things up. Grant played a lot better with Dame. Having Lillard here would have given Scoot some time to adjust.

I will say this, i have a lot of patience with Scoot, he's our PG of the future, hopefully. I do think Shaedon looked better in his first NBA games than Scoot does so far, Shaedon showed potential and i remember he still scored double digits even though he looked bad. Scoot hasn't shown anything yet, i mean, give me just something, passing, speed, attacking the rim, just something

And i think Grant, Brogdon and Simons have to go. Give the keys to Scoot, Shaedon and Ayton

Scoot attacked the rim… and then got blocked or an offensive foul. He did get one layup and one dunk.

I'm less concerned about Scoot being as good as Dame was (I don't think he'll be as good as him) than I am concerned about Shaedons growth.

I think the best player on the team going forward will be Shaedon (not necessarily this year, but going forward).

    He just has "it".
