Haha. But I doubt Brogdon has passed the ball 39 times this season.

Don’t need to wait years, I’ve been wondering it since day one. Clearly they saw something in Nurk that I never did.

Sure, if the goal is to teach Scoot to be a no pass ball hog.

Grant was really fighting for boards. Great to see. I wonder if Chauncey's jab at the vets for not playing as hard as the young'ins in yesterday's post-game had anything to do with that?

Just finished watching this nice win this morning. Shaedon's jumper is a weapon an offense can feature as a main focus. It's quick and smooth off the dribble & catch and shoot. Not only can he jump like he's on the moon but unfortunately he dribbles like it too. Loved Scoot attacking, looks like he's settling in.

Man Scottie Barnes is impressive, but the Raptors really lack a lead guard for their attack. Their need there is glaring

Well I’ll happily swap them Brogdon for OG. ;)

Shooting and ball-handling/veteran back-up point guard has been the issue for several seasons running. Not only has the FO not addressed it, they have traded 2/3 first round picks for Thad Young (DNP) and Poeltl who so far hasn't been able to stay on the court to close-out games. So they've used assets on other bullshit.
Being able to have those three on the court together makes Toronto one of the best defensive teams (3rd in DRTG currently). Barnes' shooting has improved but OG and Siakam are cold to start the season. Toronto is 30th in ORTG and currently the only team in the league not averaging 100ppg.

Dick is a good add but you can't expect him to contribute too much. Schröder is .500 from three but .385 from the field. Trent is shooting .326 from the field. Jalen McDaniels, who shot 40% from three last season, is currently 0/8 shooting this year. Otto Porter hasn't played, neither has Garrett Temple.

It's too early to abandon ship but the issues Toronto are having are basically expected. We have possibly the worst guard rotation in the NBA.

I understand that and I do not dispute it, but I think the issue is that with the new CBA - paying 3 max/near max salaries for the forwards is just not a reasonable plan, especially since the Raptors do not seem like they really want to be anywhere close to the 2nd apron. I think the guard issue mentioned is basically a roster balance issue. You basically want at least 2 of your max salaries to be on different areas of the court. The Nuggets 3 big salaries are guard (JM), Center (Duh) and forward (MPJ/Gordon). Scottie Barnes is a max player in the making. OG wants a big salary and Pascal is already a max player. That's just bad planning on the Raptors FO in my opinion.

That is my issue with what the Raptors are doing.

It doesn't show up in the stat sheet but the radio guys mentioned Grant was doing a great job of bottling up Siakam and frustrated him all night.

I wonder if the Blazers are intentionally showcasing Brogdon. He's averaging 22.5 FGA per 36, that's 2 more than Damian Lillard every averaged for us.

Small sample size yeah, but it's quite telling.

With Simons out , Brogdon has the green light. This could be very helpful for his trade value.

After only 3-4 games into the season, there are just 3 undefeated teams, and many disappointments such as the Heat, Raptors, Rockets, Grizzlies, Jazz, etc., just as expected.

Brogdon should be an attractive part of the puzzle for many of these teams.

He did win 6th man of the year just last season. In other words, he won't mess up your starting unit, but will contribute right away.

For someone that talks about how much NBA they watch, you sure never seem to know anyone outside the stars.

It seems the Raptors strategy is to hold assets to make another big trade. That strategy hasn't panned out. You're right this is the last year such a thing can get done before giant extensions kick-in, and now with both of those guys on expiring deals it's probably harder. Toronto fans can only speculate on why the FO has doubled-down repeatedly on this lopsided roster.

I'm only going to tell you one thing; he is a better all around player than Christian Wood.
