ok...I see where you're coming from

I just don't see the benefit of him practicing a lot of three's in the games. Giannis has shot 2000 three's in NBA games and he's worse now than he used to be. Between G-league and the NBA Scoot has shot less than 100 three's. He's not going to get better going 0-6 in Toronto or 1-5 against Orlando. He's going to get better at it by shooting hundreds of three's a week in the off-seasons and on extended breaks in-season. Dame has shot 7,000 three's, in games, in his career. Is that even 5% of his total shots from the arc? 2%? He's likely shot a three-ball more than 100,000 times in his career; probably 200,000. Scoot needs to practice and it's hard to practice when the season is running

my thoughts on scoot is im not worried one fucking bit, and honestly im surprised there are so many that are.

as everyones pointed out hes young, his shot isnt ugly or completely broken just not going in, i just think its going to take time to get the pace of everything. I feel like ive seen the flashes hes just gotta put it all together. He kinda reminds me of jerryd bayless when he first started a bit just bulldogging through defenses. he will figure it out.

I also think part of the reason why ayton hasnt been doing well offensively as far as i can tell is that scoot (or anyone on the team for that matter) hasn't played with a center of his caliber at a professional or semi professional level before, so the passes keep coming down at aytons ankle's rather than higher up. They just need a few more months to gel together and i think the easy lob buckets will be there for ayton and for sharpe too. I feel like sharpe did this last year too, maybe there were more flashes shown in his first 10-15 games but it took him damn near the whole season for him to stop making silly plays or looking lost out there from time to time. I'll be worried if he's still doing this next year or closer to the end of this year.... till then let him figure it out.

I would say that my only concern that i tend to flip flop on is chauncey, not 100% convinced he's the right coach for this job anymore but im also not 100% not convinced either. I had some concerns when dame was around but that was more around how dame and how that team was constructed and how they were being played. Now it's damn near a totally different ball club as far as a roster goes, so I am going to give him a bit more time to figure out how to use this team till i make a judgement on that.

Well, he makes them in practice. So he can already do that. Where else is he supposed to practice making them in games, other than in games?

I seriously doubt that Giannis has shot enough in practice to get good, or he hasn't shot with a good coach, and with the proper intent. That matters.

There is no reason Scoot can't make 500 perfect threes after nearly every game (granted, there will be some travel time, where he'll have to leave right away, etc, but generally it should be doable.) My kids can make 500 threes in a half hour to 45 minutes (okay, make it 45 minutes to an hour).

Once you've done something correctly 10,000 times you should be capable of doing it at a world class level. If scoot can make 500 perfect threes 3-4 days per week he'll have made 10,000 perfect 3s easily within a couple months. Even 400 per session. But they have to be perfect form, while he's tired.

I would encourage him to do it after games, when his legs are tired and he's frustrated and emotional. And I would encourage him to keep shooting if teams are leaving him open in games.

Wish you guys would stop talking out of your asses about how Scoot should practice.

The game is clearly a little too fast for him right now, and he's rushing everything/not making the best decisions because of it. End of story. He just needs time.

this, he clearly was one of the fastest g league stars, so i am sure he is not used to defenders being able to keep up with him. Not that he doesnt have explosiveness he just needs to learn how to use it properly. aka time.

I actually said I'm confident that he is ALREADY practicing, and so he should keep shooting open 3s.

My example was only to show that there is nothing stopping him from getting reps, as was suggested.

So the MRI after the swelling went down shows he will be out indefinitely?
