Yeah and I read your response to my post and responded before reading the rest of the thread.

SOS. The Wolverines haven’t hardly played anyone. If they lose to OSU, they will have lost to one of the only ranked teams on their schedule. They play two ranked teams this season. Penn Stare and OSU. Ducks will have played against 5 ranked teams by the end of the year.

Fuck. USC fired their shitty DC. I was worried about that. Are they gonna play better next week?

I know. I do it all the time. No worries.
Yeah it looks like you have a pretty good point on the schedule. Let’s hope for the best.

Why did USC have to finally wake up and fire their DC the week they play us?

Because a team that wins their conference gets consideration over a similar-resume'd team that didn't win their conference.

    Another good point.
    I’m still worried about Alabama.

If 1-loss Alabama beats undefeated Georgia in the SEC title game (and FSU and 1 of tOSU/UM also go undefeated), that's about the only way 1-loss Oregon doesn't get into the playoff.

But then does Georgia get in?

Over 1-loss Oregon? I think so.

Here’s another one. Let’s say Bama beats Georgia and Wash beats Oregon. Do the Huskies get in before the Bulldogs? You would think so?

As an aside, I find it fascinating that Oregon and Oregon State are the highest-ranked 1-loss and 2-loss team, respectively.

Bottom line Oregon needs to win out. Lanning should have taken the 3 points.

Yes, I have no doubt that undefeated Washington gets in ahead of 1-loss Georgia.

What also could be really interesting is if Mississippi beats Georgia next weekend. They would (arguably) jump up ahead of Oregon in the rankings, yet not even qualify for their conference title game if Bama wins out.

I think if Oregon wins out then they will get voted in. Final year of the Pac 12. The strongest year of the pac12 in years, maybe ever.

I could see the committee wanting to get a pac 12 team in there for nostalgia purposes.

Oregon in the meantime needs to keep up with style points and beating their opponents mercilessly.

The Committee has long used "What Have You Done For Me Lately" when deciding who makes the playoffs.

Meaning if you're a 1 loss team, the earlier in the season the loss the better.

The most balanced and dominating teams i think ive seen. I agree. This is the year. Just get into the playoffs and I think they win it all.

The loser of Mich/Ohio St won't be in their conference championship. So if Oregon won, they would be a conference champion with 1 loss where either Mich or Ohio St would not be. Also, the Pac-12 is the better conference this year. Oregon controls their own destiny IMO.
