I’m having trouble finding the lies here, aside from the ones being repeated from mainstream news sources. Ukraine’s young volunteer army is nearly (if not completely) decimated and conscripts are being used. That’s just a fact. Not sure why such a heavy investment is being made to suggest otherwise.

It is not a fact. It is a lie spread by the Russian propaganda machine. Probably believed by Russian generals sitting behind a desk. Which is why they get their butts kicked daily.

Most Ukrainian soldiers are vets called up, or new volunteers, which are many. Plus there are the foreign fighters. Very few Ukrainians have been drafted. However everyone between 18 an 60 years old is required to register for the draft. I believe some woman are also required, but not sure of the details.

Speaking of woman. Did you know about 50,000 Ukrainian woman have joined the military. Many work at duties to free up men to go to the front. But a surprising number of Ukrainian woman are so pissed off at Russia, they have volunteered to be front line snipers and tanks operators. I would not want to go up against a pissed off woman that has a tank, and knows how to use it.

Not only that but guys who have lost a leg or vision from one eye have gone back to combat. That's what you do when you are fighting for the very existence of your country and your people.

Saw a report a few days ago on the "theory" of why Avdiivka is so important to Putin. If this is false, or you have better intel, let me know.

The Avdiivka chemical and coke (type of coal, not nose candy) plant is one of the largest in that part of the world. The products it produces are neccesary for the large steel mills and manufacturing plants in Mariupol, which Russia captured about a year ago.

It appears Putin wants all of these plants for some reason. Without the Avdiivka plants, the Mariupol plants will be much more difficult to operate.

Russia says co-existence not possible with Ukraine's current 'regime'

MOSCOW, Nov 21 (Reuters) - Russia cannot co-exist with the present "regime" in Kyiv, a senior Russian official said on Tuesday, reaffirming the goals of what President Vladimir Putin calls a special military operation to "demilitarise" Ukraine.

Putin sent troops into Ukraine in February 2022, triggering a war in Europe and the most serious confrontation between Russia and the West since the depths of the Cold War.

"The current regime (in Kyiv) is absolutely toxic, we do not see any options for co-existence with it at the moment," Russian Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik told reporters in Moscow.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has ruled out talks with Putin, while leaving the door open to talks with Russia.

Miroshnik's post was created to collect evidence of alleged Ukrainian crimes against civilians. Moscow also faces allegations by Kyiv and its allies that Russian forces have committed war crimes in Ukraine. Moscow denies the allegations.

Miroshnik, a former official in the Russian-backed self-styled separatist administration of the "Luhansk People's Republic" in eastern Ukraine, accused Ukrainian forces of committing crimes against civilians in regions that Moscow now says it has annexed.

Ukraine is carrying out its own investigations into alleged Russian war crimes on its territory, and accuses Moscow of deliberately targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure in air strikes. Russia denies this.

A U.N.-mandated body has chronicled war crimes it says Russian forces have committed in Ukraine, and the International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant for Putin for the illegal deportation of hundreds of children from Ukraine.

Russia, which does not recognise the jurisdiction of the ICC, has rejected the allegations against Putin.

Miroshnik said Russia could resist NATO as long as was needed to defeat Ukrainian forces and that the West would eventually lose interest, meaning the Kyiv leadership would collapse. Kyiv says it will continue fighting until the last Russian soldier has left its territory, and its Western allies have said they will continue to support Ukraine.

You can make jokes about the Nazi connection, but they are literal Nazis, and they celebrate literal Nazis. I find it ironic how little the left cares about that. Then on the other hand, they launch endless false accusations about Americans they disagree with being Nazis.....

That's possible. I have not seen anything like that mentioned. My impression is that the main steel plant in Mariupol is completely destroyed.

There are literal Nazis in the US.

Yes, no one country has a monopoly on fucked up people with fucked up beliefs.

But since it's such a concern to you, you do know there are literal Nazis in Russia, right? I mean you do know this? I find it ironic how you seem so upset about Ukrainian Nazis but not Russian ones.

Russia is in firm control of much of East Ukraine. Russia has been defending it, and Ukraine has been sustaining massive casualties in a useless effort to try and expel the Russians.

Now we see even the mainstream media, the same folks who kept priming you all to support this war, to send hundreds of billions to Ukraine, and told you Ukraine was winning, and admitting Ukraine can't push Russia out. On to the next war....

Ukraine seems to be at Russia's mercy at this point. Russia was willing to negotiate awhile back, but now Ukraine is in a much worse position, with their military in shambles. They'll have to surrender. I assume the terms will be worse than they were before, with the cost Russia has put in.

As I, and and many others were saying months ago, supporting this war has been madness. It's only cost a lot more lives and $$ and Ukraine is going to be worse off in every way. They were simply pawns.

As long as Ukraine wants to defend their borders I'm happy with the US funding the effort.

Money can't carry a gun or launch artillery. Wishing for this to continue is really just wishing for more Ukranaians to die.

Please try and snap yourselves out of this partisan thinking. I suppose once it's all public that Ukraine has surrendered you'll get to blame republicans, and not see that the voices who were against this from the start were correct, and the voices who convinced you this was good were lying.
