Grant Williams, Maxi Kleber and Josh Green.
And Kyrie Irving after he got hurt.

It’s way too early. But, Scoot needs to prove me wrong he’s not the next Telfair dammit

Well, the Mavs are a division leader and the #3 team in the conference, so they are (comparatively) mighty.

I do like how the players are showing they can play when called upon (tho Tou and Scoot need to spend the next off season working on their shooting).

I think having Grant, Malcolm and Ayton would've made a difference in the game. I don't know if it would mean they'd win, but at least there would be more depth to cope with the foul issues they had.

But holy crap, Tou shot 20 times...Scoot shot 17 times.

Both more than Sharpe did (granted, Sharpe had 4 fouls in 18 minutes in the first half). Tho if Tou shot the 3 at the same rate as the team did outside of his brick-fest (34% vs 37%) it's just a difference of about 6 points.

BUT take out Scoots 3's and Tou 3's, and the team goes from 34% from 3, to 43% from 3.

Those *16* shots should have been launched by someone else than those two.

While I'm glad they're doing a system, and I hope (believe) eventually Scoot and Tou will end up shooting respectable %'s from 3's (not necessarily this year), seeing them force up 16 three pointers tonight was brutal.

I think Scoot and Toumani must own stock in a basketball rim paint company. They spent all night chipping paint with bricks

in last 2 games, Sharpe had 33 shots; Ant had 48

I'd much rather Simons get 48 shots than Scoot and Tou getting 37 tonight.

Not being critical of Tou's game, but he's not there yet to justify having him shoot as many 3's as they did.

Kinda disrespectful that they answered our lack of offense with Derrick Jones Jr jumpshots

The more I think about it

It's been a winning strategy for most our opponents.

Maybe Dallas isn't using DJJ properly? Run the dunk play every time! :smiley-jumping:

Ant looked great tonight but Shaedon is currently the best player on the roster and if our coaching staff is capable of making adjustments on the fly (like they should be) more sets will be run to get Shae shots than Ant. I think both can coexist as long as the team gets the pecking order right. Scoot is a work in progress and needs a lot of work but he has so much promise. I think eventually the team will have to choose between an Ant/Shae back court and a Scoot/Shae back court but I doubt that will be this season unless some team blows us away with a trade offer for Scoot or Ant.

I'm hoping that Tou's three starts falling, sure at 23 the guy could still add to his tool kit but the shot doesn't look broken so he needs to start knocking down wide open looks, the same for Bari. I would say that I can't wait to see what we look like with Jerami, Malcolm and Deandre back but the only one I'm really interested in adding to this mix at this point is Deandre. Both Malcolm and especially Jerami are just going to take opportunities away from the guys who need to get reps. Both guys have already shown they can be incredibly effective starters in this league and are worth their salaries. I'll just grit my teeth and bare it while they take reps away from our young studs until we can move them both for a really good return or returns.

Four Aussies out there, would have been five if Green was fit. Doncic obviously respects them because he would’ve had three on his team had they signed Tisse. Doncic had such a rough time playing against them in Tokyo that he wanted them all on his team so he didn’t have to face them. Exum, Green, Tisse could all be starting for Australia in Paris.

I’m very impressed with how Reath has been going in the NBA. I knew that his offence would hold up, but his defence has always been his weakness. Slow feet laterally, and poor rotation. But he’s really improved, which is not only great for him and the Blazers, but also Australia.

Shaedon was definitely better this time last year. Scoot is just awful

I’m sure with Kamara it might just be a fatigue thing. If you watch him, he spends so much time chasing down the opposing teams best offense.

Thybulle does too. He seems to have the 3 dialed in. I’ve been impressed with him this year

0-3 when Ant plays without Grant, Ayton and Brogdon. Just sayin’ there’s more at play here than Ant’s return.

Hell no !! Dallas is horse poop. They'll probably start choking soon, Luka's bad calves will flair up, and Mark Cuban will be giggling after the new owners find a lump of coal called the Mavs in their stockings.
