yeah, I'm not understanding the last play call too much. Simons was really hot, and the Wizards had no answer for Ant + any screen....he was open every time for either spot-up or dribble drive

I was impressed with Ant and it wasn't because he was scalding hot....I was impressed with the fact that with just a few exceptions, he was really quick with his decisions tonight. No over-dribbling while the shot clock ran. Attack or shoot

an unacceptable performance by the starting unit. Agains the Wizards. Horrible.

Billups need to stop talking about what he wants and make some changes.

Gafford had as many blocks as the entire Blazers team. (6)

Hey Ant, your coach don’t trust you taking the last shot.

i don't trust chauncey. don't really trust cronin either, but he can certainly persuade billups to play the right guys by making some moves.

It would take a monster offer to move Ant but if that offer comes we should do it. Ant is young and he will be at the top of his game when Shae is, so that's not a problem but Ant is ready to contribute to wins right now... so if a team that needs wins right now is willing to pay a serious premium for him, you've got to move him... if and only if you feel confident about where Scoot will be when everything shakes out.

    Kinda sounds that way...

Question - what was the idea on the last play? Was that a look similar to what we saw the other night with Ant coming off, or were you looking for JG for a 4 on 4?

Billups - No, it was the same play we just ran before that when Ant got the dunk coming down hill. Several options on the play and Jerami just caught it and just kinda went 1 on 1 which I've got to live with that. He's one of our best players, he's a great one on one player, but the only thing I will say is I wish he would have went a little sooner, just in case he missed it we would have had a chance at a tip back. It took a little too long to get there."

I think Chauncey could be a good player development coach.

It is impossible to advocate for his in game decision making. This is year 3. Either learn or get out.

eh, not that bad i guess.

still, why would you run the exact same play again? do we really not have other plays to set up simons in an iso at the top of the key?

Just sounds like Chauncey being honest to me. Jerami has no business being a number 1 option or a 1a but on the right team he's a helluva good number 3 option and on any team he's a fantastic number 4 option.

Let's hope someone wants to pony up a couple of future firsts for him or a young talented player and a first.

That's the the kind of play call you make when you don't really care if you win. In this situation, a couple years ago, there's no way in hell that Dame doesn't get the ball. So why wouldn't Ant?! Not comparing the two. But, when your best scorer is having a 41-point game, why run a play for Jerami?

Also, I hope posters on here start realizing that Tisse shouldn't be considered a throw in or a salary match in a trade. He's playing without fear of the quick hook like he got in Philly. He is the epitome of a 3nD now that he's shooting well and he's only gonna get better. He's already one of the best defenders in the league. He's under rated as a passer and playmaker. He's on a pretty good contract. Depending on the matchups, he could real easily be on the court to finish games.
As soon as he goes, people will scream for better defenders and shooting because some posters seem to think that any player over 25 should be traded for picks. Well, they have plenty of picks and sending him out as part of a trade better get a good return because I think it's a mistake.

I mean they could have just got him the ball. The Wizards have no one that can stay in front of him or stop him from getting a jump shot off. They had 6 seconds, plenty of time. Doubling there is really risky.

Chauncey taking a bunch of the blame on himself. Saying he needs to be better at getting the team prepared.

The only thing that made even a little sense is that he was going one on one against a rookie.... but I just don't like it. It's not a shot that I can live with. If Simons missed or if he did a kickout and Grant missed a wide open three, I can live with that. Doing a backdown was just...... lame. And like Billups said, it didn't leave us with any time to rebound and attempt a second shot.

Simons should've made that layup in the first place.
