Unfortunately, it is still to the other team more than I would like. He's getting better than when he started the season but it is an area of needed growth.
Looks a bit different when you add in the number of minutes played. https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/player-with-most-turnovers-per-minute-nba-history Scoot has .115 turnovers per minute played which puts him solidly in the top percentage of the most consistent turnover machines.
Personally I am fine with turnovers. I want him learning what he can and can’t get away with. His passes into the paint are what separates him from Simons. Anyone can do kick outs to Grant and Sharpe and Thybulle for threes.
Not to bash Lillard, but I vaguely remember him espousing how he himself was gonna work on finishing at the rim one off season. Not sure if it was after his rookie year, but it was early in his career. Another season Lillard said he would be working on his three point shot. Yet another on his distance. But I do recall him saying he needed to work on his finishing at the rim. I am positive Scoot will be working on this aspect as well as an entire myriad of facets to his game. The good news is that Scoot has always seemed to be a hard worker, not a talker. If he were a stock, i'd be buying.
I used to scream at the TV when a young Scottie Pippen would shoot long outside shots. He wasn't very good at it (shot selection especially). After a couple of years, he turned out pretty good. Scoot is the real deal. The only thing that can mess him up is poor coaching.
Fox is 26 years old and in his 7th season. His 3 point conversion rate: 2017-18 .307 2018-19 .371 2019-20 .292 2020-21 .322 2021-22 .297 2022-23 .324 2023-24 .403 what are the chances that A) Fox has found a new zone from three after 1500 shots? or B) he's on a hot streak and will regress? He shot 39% on three's his first 20 games last season; then shot 30% the rest of the season Fox might be a decent template/comparison for Scoot's overall game but I'm skeptical Fox has suddenly found a shooting stroke that's sustainable
Great comp, but Scoot doesn't seem like a great rebounder and is faster. He looks like John Wall to me.
Young, Jason Kidd might have been the fastest player in the league. https://coachingclipboard.org/2015/10/29/player-resource-the-best-advice-i-ever-got-jason-kidd/
