The freedom to own other human beings as property, very good thing. That is worth fighting a war.

Freedom to make one's own health care decisions, marry the person one loves, express gender identity... very bad things.

Marjorie Taylor Greene praised Russian high school history textbook for repeating that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump.

To be fair, she thinks the civil war is a current one she’s supposed to be shilling for.

Head of "parental rights" group (code for book banning) in Pennsylvania in legal trouble after serving alcohol to minors at her daughter's 17th birthday, and for assaulting several of the teens. After she and her boyfriend both assaulted guests, some of the teens, showing more sense than the adults, tried to leave. She forcibly blocked them, saying they had to stay.

But no drag queens were present.

Twice impeached loser upset that Ohio's Republican governor vetoed anti trans bill. Governor has a few brain cells and noted they can't say they are for parental rights and prohibit parents from deciding their children's health care.

Except for pregnant ten year old rape victims.

Fresh Calls for Stock Trading Ban After US Lawmakers Beat Market in 2023

"Members of Congress should not be allowed to trade stock," said one former congressional candidate. "It's corruption."

    https://www.commondreams.org/news/congress-stock-trading-ban

Ron Wyden and Nancy Pelosi are among the top politicians corruptly making money off a stock market their policies directly affect.

Our founding fathers did a good job of building a checks and balance process into our government. However....

Not sure if they overlooked creating a checks and balance system for members of congress, or, trusted them to make their own rules? Either way, letting congress make their own rules was like putting foxes in charge of the henhouse.

Good luck getting enough congress members on that list to pass a bill banning all congress members, and their families, from owning stocks.

    Just read a disturbing report.

Since 1985, almost 40 years. The average cost of housing has gone up twice as fast as workers earnings.

Every year, fewer and fewer families are able to afford to buy their own home.

That's not a surprise, 1985 was the start of the trickle down economy nonsense (Reaganomics) that the GOP loves so much.

In reality, whenever you build something, you build it bottom up. Trickle down economy believes you build things from the roof down. It's just an excuse for bigger in-equality and concentration of power by the rich. Sad, but true.

'MAGA Math Doesn't Add Up': Democrats Rebuked for Backing GOP Cuts to IRS

"Appeasing Republican extremists with cuts to the IRS," said Groundwork Action, "is both fiscally and morally irresponsible."

    https://www.commondreams.org/news/democrats-irs-cuts

Democrats are literally helping the GOP to allow rich tax evaders to keep evading taxes.

Anyone who can still support either of these two parties, is a dumb fucking useless waste of shit, same as their party...

An honest person might have acknowledged Republicans were ready to shut down the government again. That Democrats pushed back against some of the worst demands but had to accelerate IRS cuts already agreed to in order to keep Weaker McCarthy from shutdown.

Governing is hard. Insulting people on message boards is easy.

This is the rock bottom thread... I don't necessarily consider voting for a Democrat to be supporting Democrats. Very often Republicans are just too effing crazy.

But The fact that the DNC is basically left leaning corporateists who are also basically looking out for themselves it's not like people have a ton of choice.

Like when most leading candidates in the Dem Primaries claimed to be supporting their own flavors of Bernie Sanders basic agenda until the DNC got them all to drop out and step in line in a coalition behind Biden...

Screw the middle class, I'm getting mine.

    Drill baby drill.

The parties are weaker today than they ever have been. They don't have the power to do much of anything. The idea that they are somehow deciding things behind the scenes is on the same level as saying that a secret cabal of pedophile globalists is conspiring to ... whatever globalist pedophiles conspire to do these days.

If someone thinks this is a bad deal, fine. If someone thinks Democratic leadership is too pro corporate, I agree. What is irritating me is someone sitting up on internet Mount Olympus calling everyone who chooses to participate in an imperfect political process rather than spend their lives trolling for videos to post "a dumb fucking useless waste of shit".

That's why I consider it such a hit on the character of those who did it. It was greed, pure and simple. Every single one of them took personal advancement into a weak shitty bureaucracy over the betterment of their country without hesitation.

I lost a ton of respect for each of them, and while at one time I would have preferred some of them over Biden (Warren, Buttigieg) I now see them as Biden's equal at best.
