Bingo. What Portland is getting is unacceptable. Flirting with historic losses, hoping the other team takes their foot off your neck to save you the indignity. That's not necessary to rebuild. That's just incompetent.
Regardless of Dame on the roster or not, if you are tanking for picks, it’s a rebuild. Which is what we did the last two years. This is the third year. Not the third month.
Not true. The Warriors tanked for picks without rebuilding. We certainly haven't been tanking for 5 years.
I said three. Not five. And when we have players like Steph, klay and green on a tanking team for a pick for one year, I won’t consider it a rebuild. But comparing what we did the last two years and are continuing to do to a champion team is like comparing apples to automobiles. that gas tank was more like when SA tanked for a year for Duncan. We aren’t in the same realm as either of those two teams at all. We’ve been tanking for three years. And in those three years, we have been looking to rebuild, whether around Dame or without him.
This team should be bad. This team shouldn't be THIS bad. Losing Timelord and Ayton certainly has played a big part. Things really started to go downhill when Ayton's injury became a perpetual DNP. But, yeah, I now am on the bandwagon that Chauncey's making it a lot worse. There's no real offense and he keeps trotting out this 2-3 zone that looks worse than any other 2-3 zone I've seen played in years.
I never said we have been tanking for 5 years. See my quote above yours. I said we have been in a steady decline for 5 years. Technically, I was wrong. We had a slight improvement in the 20-21 season. However, it was well below the peak season of 18-19. From my view, we have been worse every year compared to 6 seasons ago, and tanking for 3 seasons.
So....anyone recognize the big ass elephant in the room? It's not Chauncy, it's not Jodi, it's not effort. It's a two headed monster called Doublesupmaxcontrax. Unfortunately, this deadly monster was devastatingly depleting to defeat. Even in death, we find out it was wearing a future injury cloak to stab at us as it's final gift. Me? I feel for the kids, hope for the future, and glad I am healthy and alive at 64. All the rest of this shit is immaterial. Go Blazers! Not getting W's very often this season, but when we do, I'm as happy as a proud pappy!
I just sent this to my season ticket holder rep: Hi (season ticket holder rep), My family and I have been season ticket holders for a long time (1974). I've enjoyed the ups and downs. I must say, after watching the performance of the team so far this year, I don't think I've ever been so down on the Blazers. I understand the rebuilding process. I expected losses this year. I truly don't care about the Ws and Ls. But the way the Blazers have been playing is hard to watch. Just in the last 7 games, 6 of the games the Blazers lost by more than 20! Including the embarrassing 62-point loss to OKC. But if that wasn't a wake-up call, the Blazers followed that with a 23-point uninspired loss to Minnesota down at one point by 36 points. I know the Blazers have had some injuries. All teams deal with injuries. I know the Blazers are young. There are multiple teams just as young as the Blazers doing significantly better. The excuses are easy to rattle off. Where is the accountability? The players look uninspired. These are young players that should be showing signs of growth. They appear to be regressing. The ticket value I paid at the start of the season has plummeted. The only way to get rid of the tickets I can't use is to give them away (not sell them). And in many cases, it's hard to find someone who wants the tickets even for free. I guess the harshest thing I could say at the moment is - I'm losing interest and just don't care.
Valid feelings. Honest question: What is the realistic outcome from this email? Do the ticket reps send it to Cronin/Billups? Are you looking for a discount? Looking for a specific response?
What does Wiseman ending up as a bust have to do with anything? That had nothing to do with the Warriors losing in the play-in to the Lakers the next year. They weren’t rebuilding. That wasn’t a rebuild year.
Fair question. It was to vent. I don't expect to get anything of substance from the Blazers. To be honest, in the past when I've voiced any feelings of dissent (which is not very often), their feedback was simply - "We don't care. Don't sign up to be a season ticket holder then." Fair enough. It's hard to swallow the price increases over the past few seasons (yes, they've raised prices significantly over the past 5 seasons) with such terrible results/performance from the team. At the end of the day, I'll continue to be a Blazer fan. I love it that my son comes home from OSU to go to as many of the games he can with me. That right there is worth the price of the tickets.
Id like to add that along with the continual increase in costs and decrease in quality entertainment, the service and options in the moda have deteriorated considerably as well. remember the club buffet? remember the quality gifts we used to get? This season was a little fanny pack??? im on the fence as to renew or not as well and what burns me the most is they force us to decide before we know the direction of the team. I renewed last year based on the team stating they would build around Dame. Then they traded him and it’s a shit show. How do I know if I renew for next year, they don’t trade away scoot and sharpe or do whatever else to further minimize the entertainment value? the fact we have to choose to renew or not before the trade deadline seems almost nefarious…
If he isn't the only season ticket holder sending these emails, which I'm sure he's not, the Blazers will have to listen. Season ticket holders and other fans are the life blood of this franchise. No fans no money no team.
I kind of agree... I think the organization is fully aware of how bad the product is and that few people are loving this season. I guess my question is, what can be done to correct it? Getting younger (trading Brogdon, Grant, Thybulle) won't make the product on the floor better. So do we want them trading Sharpe and Scoot so we can compete in more games right away? I don't think that would go over well either. I suspect if Cronin could make one or two trades that would make us really good, he would do it. I just don't see the path the accelerate this.
