About to watch the last two episodes of the season today on the plane. Hamm has been fantastic as a bad guy.
Just watched The Curse….the ENTIRE season……constantly waiting for it to “get good”. I can honestly say it might be the worst show ever created. The last episode is being called the worst ever! BRUTAL!!!!!!
And am currently watching The Changeling on AppleTV…..Kinda murder mystery/sci-fi…….halfway thru it. Pretty good so far. LaKeith Stanfield from Atlanta,Knives Out,Get Out
I watched the 1st episode. Waited for it to get good. It didn't. By your review, I'm glad we didn't "stick with it" to see if it got good.
I think this was the best season, and that's saying a lot. Everyone was great. Juno Temple really surprised me. Did you know these are not actually true stories? That made me sad to learn, but the show is fantastic nonetheless.
What, there AREN'T several-hundred-year-old Welsh sin-eaters acting as hired hitmen in the American Midwest? Get out of town!
He was a bad guy in his career-defining role in Mad Men! He was CERTAINLY a bad guy in The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. But agreed, that whole series was just gripping from start to finish. Tell you who really surprised me: Jennifer Jason Leigh.
Everybody says that Ted Lasso is the only good thing on Apple TV, but the following are just amazing: Severance Slow Horses Silo. Basically, any show beginning with "S" apparently.
Best show on Prime Video that nobody seems to know about: Patriot. Just try it - it's not what you expect and it's not like anything else. Really gets under your skin.
Couple of amazing animated shows that I didn't see mentioned in the "Best TV of 2023" but absolutely should be: Scavengers Reign (Max): beautiful sci fi/body horror. Nothing like anime because it's slow-paced and contemplative (which does NOT mean boring). Kind of an animated version of the movie Annihilation. Carol and the End of the World (Netflix): how did this show get greenlit? On Netflix, no less! It's pretty much indescribable so you're going to have to watch it. Another one that really gets under your skin.
I thought it was really good too. Shrinking on Apple TV is great! and so is Killers of the Flower Moon (movie).
We really liked Severance and Slow Horses(first season, haven't watched past that yet). So will give Silo a shot as well!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! DID NOT LIKE IT! Between this and The Curse, my last two shows I've watched, I'm striking out. Sidenote: I did watch that first season of Hijack and LOVED it.
It's different from both. What I like most about it is the world-building. And seasons 2 and 3 of Slow Horses are just as good!
