Marang said the Blazers aren't interested in draft capital. They want players.

Link? Did he say anything else?

Great! We have draft capital and alot of young players already.

So. What players would be a worthy return for Malcom that is realistic?

If we cant name anyone realistically, then keeping him is the best thing to do for now.

Draft picks are liquid assets. They are more valuable than injury prone vets, especially for rebuilding teams like ours.

We can try to flip 2024 picks for future picks if we wanted. Or we can combine them wither other picks we own to target the player we want. How are these guys so shortsighted.

Why would I waste time doing something like that? There are dozens of wings who could help us more than Brogdon can. I said if they are available we should get one.

If we can't make a deal that brings a wing as good or better than Brogdon we should trade him for the best pick we can get.

We also have Jeremy Grant we can trade.

    The possibilities are endless.

You are gonna be livin' in the meltdown thread soon. I predict it. narrow views often result in disappointment. you put zero value in veteran leadership in a position we are grooming our future youth for. Some could say that is extremely shortsighted.

If there are dozens that are realistically getable, you should be able to name a few at least... nice copout. lol.

Brogdon needs to be traded as the value he has now is that any acquiring team can get him for 2 playoffs, whereas if he is traded this summer teams are only getting him for one playoff. So I would think his value would be higher now.

Its the same old thing,. Joe has endless options. He can do many things. Then he does things and its... why did he do that??? wtf is he thinking?

Fans can be so unrealistic sometimes its comical.

I don't care. It's a waste of time that I don't really engage in. That's why you don't see me posting in the trade machine threads, etc.

It's about maximizing assets, not specific individuals.

Who says it has to be limited to an older player or picks? I would prefer to see multiple assets used to acquire a younger player with 4-5 years experience at a position of need and other guys to balance salary. Brogdon, Williams and the Warriors pick should be tempting. Cut the fucking timeline.

Either is fine. If a player who plays a front court position is available, by all means, go get him. I was responding to the premise about 2024 draft picks.

or am I simply pushing back on those working so hard to fill the forum with doom and gloom if we don’t trade him?

hmmmm…. Cause that has been going on for weeks. I’ve been going “hard” for a day.

I went through this exercise a couple of weeks ago to identify teams I thought needed a starting PG. I say starting because I doubt anyone will give us a 1st for their backup needs. Certainly not a young wing prospect.

Miami was one of them but that was before they traded for Rozier. The Lakers...... fuck them. Suns have nothing to offer.

That leaves GS, New Orleans, and Brooklyn IMO. That is about it. Not a whole lot of options.

Nope. I haven't posted any doom or gloom. Yet was called out as "copping out" when I refused to engage in... whatever it is you're doing.

Doom or gloom had nothing to do with it.

I didn't specify you with the doom and gloom, the forum in general.

But its 100% a cop out to claim there are dozens of guys we could trade him for and not name a single one when asked. That's weak sauce man.

I keep pushing back because those so adamant its a failure if we don't trade him cant come up with realistic trades. Same ole same ole... then those same people will get pissed at whatever trade does happen if it happens, claiming we could have done this or that.
